Hi Phil Sorry, not sure what these wheels are but I wonder if they may be copies of an Alpine wheel as when you look at the centre where the wheel bolts are, there are no markings which you normally expect to see (rim sizes, BS number, etc). Hope you find a suitable replacement.

Hi Gil...welcome to the Forum You can occasionally find an ABS ring of the right dimensions through some suppliers. lol...played that game....I believe from memory you have to really push it back hard at the same time. Q2 I think this is a programming process rather than a physical unplugging of leads, etc. You should be able to programme it back in by following a sequence (not sure of the sequence though I'm sure someone on here does)

Hi Jay....welcome to the Forum It's obviously worth looking for one that has full service history, preferably dealer history but independent specialist repairer is just as good. Look at whether the swirl flaps in the inlet manifold have been removed and plugged up so they don't drop into the engine http://bmwspecialistreading.co.uk/what-are-swirl-flaps/ Otherwise, they are a pretty good car, but worth trawling the posts on here to see what other issues arise. Hi Rich I have found with remapping that it is the improved flexibility of the engine/drivetrain that does it for me. Makes it smoother and flexible in round-town driving and economy improved on extra-urban runs allowing me to come off throttle/turbo a little which improves things all round. Cost, well...that's a little harder to justify Cheers Trevor

Hi Daniel...welcome to the Forum I totally agree with Greydog's comments....the components that have been replaced are common place on a lot of cars around a certain mileage and if it has been a company car, the mere suggestion that the gearbox is hesitant or the performance is slightly dropped then these components could have been replaced as a matter of course. As for the colour choice...its a personal thing I suppose. I personally love silver cars and very rarely go for any other colour...each to their own :-) Cheers Trevor

I think cheap brake pads have a tendency to 'cook' quite easily. I recently replaced some 'brand new' Apec pads on the rear of my Honda CRV as they were crumbling slightly like they had been overheated. Replaced them with quality pads, so if you are going for new discs and you see the pads are something cheap and nasty then replace them with quality branded pads...you will notice the difference.

Hi Philip As Dave has already mentioned, it is an easy enough process with the right equipment and morally it is not a problem to roll the mileage back as the MOT certificates will prove this to be genuine (unless of course you have done 85k miles in one year).

I have personally never heard of anyone advising to keep automatic transmission fluid 'as is'....it is supposed to be replaced periodically, and would certainly benefit the transmission to do so. You should also replace any filters and gaskets that you encounter when replacing the fluid. The only thing I can imagine is that like Mercedes, you would have to drain and refill an exact amount of fluid and/or obtain a dipstick if there is not one present. The braking matter....more than probable that it is warped discs but these can easily be measured for run-out by any reputable garage.
