  2. Hi Bill...welcome to the Club I too traded my Harley and went out to get a Z3....seems to be the done thing at a certain age I guess. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  3. Wonder if the remote needs programming to close the roof as well, but I know BMW and Merc have auto-drop on windows but not auto-close for safety reasons...could be that I suppose. You want to try voice control on a Honda....absolute joke!
  4. Continental....I agree, a very good brand with not so much following as the others....maybe its the way they market them?
  5. Hi Kevin....welcome to the Forum Great car and can be had for not a lot of money. Mileage is relative to how it's been driven and maintained and if you are getting it for a really good price then it's worth going for if it all checks out okay. Let us know how you get on with buying it Cheers, Trevor
  6. Hi....welcome to the Forum FIne looking Beemer you have there....one of the few cars that really lend themselves to being an estate car and carrying off the looks... Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  7. Would definitely be interested to know what the cause is, Chris....and hope it's not too much
  8. Hi Chris....welcome to the Forum I would advise taking the car to an auto electrician, as it's a 20 amp fuse which suggests that there is a short circuit to earth, which if the fuse did not blow then an electrical fire could ensue, which is definitely not a good outcome. For what it cost, and it may be quite quick that the sparky finds the fault, but without the knowledge and equipment to trace the fault it is a non-event in my mind. Let us know what you find Cheers, Trevor
  9. Hi Nicolas...welcome to the Forum What a shame about Goldie....fine looking car but your replacement Bimmer looks superb. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  10. The posts are randomly answered over a period of time but its not as vibrant as it used to be on here anymore.
  11. Hi Dan..... Thanks for posting up the report and photos, useful to anyone who is thinking of replacing the swirl flaps. Fine looking motor, would be interested to see the mods as they unfold. Cheers, Trevor
  12. Spotted this at the Nurburgring at the weekend....nice !!!
  13. Hi John....welcome to the Forum Certainly have a beautiful Z3 there....wish mine looked that good ! Great to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  14. Hi Ian...welcome to the Forum Feel free to post up a piccy of your Beemer on here if you like. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  15. I would definitely try to keep the rolling diameter of the tyres the same all round the car, width isn't a problem though
  16. Stainless pipes are more durable as they obviously won't corrode so if you're keeping the car for many years then it may be worth it, otherwise they definitely sound better. Not sure about the volume on the sensors but you could locate the bleeper (in the boot area I think) and see if it has dropped down or something similar
  17. Hi Mike It's an automatic adjuster by the look of it and you turn the nut on the pulley with a spanner until the slot (visible in photo) aligns with a hole behind it where you then lock it off with a drill bit of the right size. You can then fit the belt and turn the pulley slightly to release the drill bit and hey presto....correct adjustment
  18. Hi Mark....welcome to the Forum Feel free to post up a piccy of your new pride and joy Cheers, Trevor
  19. Hi John....welcome to the Forum Great looking Bimmer you have there I would agree with Greydog....one hell of a test drive :-)
  20. You could try an oil flush and refill with good quality oil but worth getting the valve followers and / or timing chain checked to see they are in tip-top condition.
  21. Hi Jordan...sorry to hear your woes...trouble you could do without! I would wait to see what fault codes come up...could be something as simple as a camshaft sensor (after timing chain has stretched a small amount, may have triggered the cam sensor?) Keep us updated on the progress Cheers Trevor
  22. Good luck with it all and hope you get a misfire (in the nicest possible sense)
  23. May have something to do with setting priority on the audio system (to select which phone is paired with first each time you reconnect)...just a thought!
  24. Not sure which calendar this is? May have been another BMW club possibly?
  25. Hi Lyndon....welcome to the Forum The hardest part now is the waiting Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
