Will a BMW X1 F48 Front seats fit directly into a BMW X2 F39?
Greydog replied to Vic Leonard's topic in BMW X2 Series Forum
Hi Vic Welcome to the Forum Check www.realoem.com search the seat section double click the part number and it should bring up a list of alternates and other models they were used in. You will also find exploded drawings of the seats and their components Hope this helps Dave -
Hi Paul When you say no fault codes where are you checking ? By the cars onboard system or by a Diagnostic program? Dave

Morning Richard Welcome to the Forum If buying outright most depreciation takes place in the first year so so buying a second user car could be a good deal Or some of the personal lease plans are pretty good these days Good luck with the hunt Dave

Morning Jimmie Try the website for contact details, the repair specialists I have used since the 90's and both have been superb. You must have similar in the US surely, if not worth emailing them and asking the question about repair. The last you could try is BROSE the OEM manufacturer they may be able to help. https://www.bmw.co.uk Repair Specialists in the UK ECU Testing + 44 1773 535638 E Mail info@ecutesting .com BBA Reman +44 1634 687222 E Mail [email protected] https://www.brose.com/de-en Dave

Morning Warren Welcome (Back) to the Forum I think that will work, as with quite a few of the ISTA/INPA driven operations it also registers that the Filter has been changed or in a few thousand miles you may start getting Service warnings. There are several programs now that can carry out these operations so maybe a member here who has INPA/ISTA, Autologic or similar can help? Good luck with the challenge Dave

Desperately seeking advice on conclusion of garage on error codes
Greydog replied to Wishplay's topic in BMW 1 Series Forum
Has the work been carried out? If not tell the Original Supplier to fix it it is up to them how they do it but the Fault was a pre existing fault so they should be given a chance. If the work has been carried out, did it fix the problem? As I tried to explain right at the start of this SAGA having a list of codes doesn't fix anything but what they do is point to the likely suspects. So a failing fuel pressure sensor can cause an imbalance in emission's that will trigger an O2 sensor fault which in turn can trigger other faults which are symptoms NOT actual faults I am at a loss as to what you expect from the Forum ? Under consumer protection the responsibility is the Original suppliers and they should be given an opportunity to resolve it. There isn't a magic wand that can be waved that will fix your car outside your house it takes effort by both parties and yes some times cost. For what it is worth ALL modern cars (mid 1990's onwards) are full of computers talking to each other so the upshot is they all need diagnostics. So whether the car is a Kia or a BMW the same issues could arise Dave- 19 replies

Hi Jimmie Yes, in the UK I would contact Customer Services Classic section, I have also found a couple of BMW Dealers whose Parts Staff have helped a lot with difficult parts Good Luck with the parts hunt Dave As an after thought we have a few specialist repairers in the UK who Test dismantle and repair all sorts of Automotive Control units Worth a search as it would also preserve originality

Problem with my X3 de misting windscreen
Greydog replied to Jim Rochford's topic in The Owners Club General Discussions
Afternoon James Welcome to the Forum How old is the car? If it is in fact a 2023 car it is under warranty so BMW would be the place to start. If the car is older than 3 years then you need BMW a BMW specialist or a Knowledgeable Independent to diagnose the problem if your not capable of DIY It could be anything from a Fuse to a failed unit Dave -
Morning Bogdan Low Coolant if you use the Idrive you should be able to check and see an explanation. My Guess is a leak somewhere, check carefully and top up just make sure it is the correct coolant. Dave
-
Morning Ken Welcome to the Forum Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box and it will call up your model. Then search the sections for the part/part number you need A Google search for the part number will often be more fruitful also don't dismiss BMW they are often more competitive than you would think Good Luck Dave

Desperately seeking advice on conclusion of garage on error codes
Greydog replied to Wishplay's topic in BMW 1 Series Forum
When the BMW DEALER (it was a dealer wasn't it?) plugs in their Diagnostic program ISTA/INPA the operator can't choose what to look at. The program first confirms the cars details then it will check each main control module in order starting with the DME/DDE depending on car spec you could have 15+ modules so the program will run for about 15 mins +. It will present the Faults they are displayed not as numbers but in English with confirmation codes. The program doesn't just show the fault the operator can check the TIS section for repair sequence and part numbers and sensor values. It will show related faults as well Let us know how it goes Dave- 19 replies

Morning Rahul Welcome to the Forum Difficult choice as the contrast between your BMW and a cheapy when driving is going to be huge. Sometimes it can work well though when I rebuilt the engine in my 4.6is I brought a high mileage Toyota Avensis estate from our local dealer ex taxi 185k but spotless and full history with 3 months MOT £700, cheap tax and insurance. My thoughts were maybe sell it on after my X5 was back on the road, after 3 months it sailed through an MOT. One of our sons started using it it stayed with us for 3 years so who knows you may find something like that. 30k per year isnt abnormally high in modern cars it would be trade values in say 3 years that may be worth considering Dave
-
Hi Dean Welcome to the Forum As with any car History History History, check it's MOT history as well any repeated fault or advisory to me show it as owned by someone who spent the minimum on it If History is good and MOT history OK then Mileage at 100k the Super charger service is due that will cost around £1k so bear that in mind when talking money The Cooper S is basically a good strong car Dave

Hi Martin Glad you made it back safe and sound Go back to my original post Fuel pressure sensor and the explanation that the other codes are symptoms caused by a failing fuel pressure sensor. Have you talked to the Seller and asked for at least a contribution? Kep us up to speed please- 19 replies

Morning Andrew 🤣 I know what you mean, as far as the Diff oil is concerned I wouldn't mind a bet that most of the cars out there have never had the gearbox, diff or transfer case serviced regardless of mileage. As an LSD has clutch plates I would tend to go with the LSD fluid to be safe. Dave

400whp makes it quick enough to wake up some supercar drivers and all Hot hatch drivers all suspension bushes need upgrading to PTFE or be prepared to change them regularly The 4.6is started with the Alpina derived engine and 354hp Dave

Morning Graham Simple answer is no, I have not heard of it being done though if you can get measurements of the mounting points you may be able to make a decision. I believe ALL X5 E53 models used the same sub frame just Diff and drive shafts being different. I take it you have checked realoem then double click the part number you should get a list of alternates. Just had a quick look and part Number 33316770459 was E53 and 33316863815 was E70 it doesn't seem to indicate any cross over on late/early models

Sorry Eric maybe harass BMW UK see if they can shed any light Dave

Hi Andrew Heck is German for Rear (I think) just had a quick look at realoem and there are 2 Part numbers I have found (1) 33102284030 and 33102283062 that are LSD as fitted to the M5 cars interestingly they were also fitted to some of the LCI from 2005 to 2015 For your Chassis from the Vin shows a Part Number of 33107570478, also Realoem doesn't seem to show a manual option? Confused If you can get part numbers from the car it may help Dave
-
Morning Andrew Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model you should find all the information you need there I dont think you have a limited slip diff as standard check a Vin decoder to get your build sheet in case the original owner ordered it with one Dave

Welcome to the Forum Evgeny Nice looking X5 and in the fastest colour too, my own E53 in Estoril is an 4.6is that came with all the bells and whistles including a deployable tow bar double glazing electric heated rear seats etc etc. The chain guides failed at 90k so during the engine rebuild I upgraded the throttle body and cams plus a few other parts it runs just over 400whp. While the engine was in bits I upgraded the in car entertainment with a Dynavin unit so full connectivity and android available but retains the OEM look. Last year I took it off the road to cut down the miles going on it (164k) and my X5 E70 3.0d became my daily drive ENJOY Dave

Morning Julian My X5 has an upgraded MMI (Android) which can accommodate CarPlay if needed never tried as I don't use Apple products from what I have read it seems straight forward though. Have you tried downloading through BMW Connected drive ? There will be a cost no doubt but still worth a try Dave
