  1. Afternoon Andrea

My bet would be the Slip Spring behind the steering wheel is at fault. A diagnostic would confirm if you have access to BMW 1.4.0 or similar (not expensive to buy and worth its weight)

Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model. Then look at the Steering section, the small exploded drawing will give clues to what fits where plus there will be part numbers that ensure you get the correct part for your model if replacing it is required. Also if you double click the part number it should give a list of any alternatives available

    Good luck with the fix

  2. Morning Andrew

    Welcome to the Forum

Timing chain issues are quite rare but still exist, the upper timing chain can be changed in situ I believe (not done one personally). My own instinct is as extended service intervals became the norm the number of incidents increased I change oil and filters annually at similar miles to those you intend. Use only good quality oil and filters

Generally as with good maintenance they are capable of star ship mileages

As for any used car  History History History. Use all the checks you can to verify mileage use and service history. On your test drive ensure everything works as it should every button every switch every gadget. Tyres should be good condition and good quality.

Then if your happy with the car and the price, ENJOY YOUR BEEMER

    Welcome to the Forum

You don't say which model you have most BMW's will have a ZF box (Manual or Automatic) though some models use an Asin Warner box

A lot of 5 speed ZF auto boxes suffered the dreaded clonk/lurch when slowing or coming to a stop. Most could be stopped with a service and software update. Of course all mountings and drive shaft are in good condition

  4. Morning Rory

Never used either so cant comment on the Card or App I would expect the card to be around the same cost as a Fob so I would buy a Fob. But then I am an old bloke

  5. I have heard of Dealerships (and I know they can vary even within Groups) of Dealerships who are unhappy to touch anything that is "not BMW OEM Supply" and insist on replacing parts "to ensure it is correct"

Hope fully your Dealer is one of the good ones,   Replacing the struts and their fixings plus alignment

    Dave

  6. Morning Alex

I hope it is under warranty (though as someone else has touched it the Dealership will duck responsibility) Also remember BMW do not repair anything they replace parts complete, get ready for a £2k min estimate 😁

If the original garage replaced the dust cover on the strut my guess is they didn't put it back correctly and some thing is out of alignment

  7. For the Disc yours will be CCC, CiC versions the maps were downloaded just check which version Professional High etc in realoem then Google your needs. Take a look at Satnav Upgrades they have been around for years

With the disc remember a disc labelled 2023/24 the maps will be older not bang up to date like digital maps

    Welcome to the Forum

Bluetooth: First check www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin  into the search box and it will bring up your model. Then search the sections for which Telematics unit is in your car and note the part number and where it is in the car. Then take a look if it's missing it answers a lot of your questions (why it was taken out who knows) Then search with the part number to find a replacement fitting is plug and play. Then in settings on the screen you should find bluetooth set it to search and the phone should be found then connect.

Angel Eyes: Back to realoem for information on bulbs

    Good Hunting

    Dave

P.S. Just a thought if someone has changed the screen you should be able to find the correct one or even a Complete Android update straight forward to fit and gives far more than the OEM unit plus still allowing you to switch between the two with the rotary controller

  9. Morning Chris

    Welcome to the Forum

    Tasty motor Enjoy

The Monitor I believe is just that so may have been changed earlier in it's life. You could check a BMW Vin Decoder that will give the build sheet so you know what was fitted at build/order

Then use www.realoem.com to get correct part numbers if your looking to replace/upgrade the screen

  10. My E53 has the same Battery, registering just regulates charging so I would check voltage at the under bonnet charging points Should be 12v+ (min) ignition on engine off 14v+ engine running. Quick thought is it registered as AGM which I believe yours will be?

Is the IBS lead in the boot in good condition

Good Hunting hope it's a simple fix

  11. Morning Korso

    Welcome to the Forum

I fear I am going to be no help here

I had a similar issue with Spotify Android Auto connects fine but with me it was Spotify. App Logo came up and then screen asked me to Login.

So clicked on login and tried it wouldn't let me message said Account in use? I tried everything I could think of including Deleting the App and reloading it, changing passwords Nothing. My head unit is an Android unit (not BMW) I even tried downloading it direct to the car. Still couldn't get past the login

For a couple of months I didn't use it then mid January I tried it and it worked and as far as I know still is.

Good Luck if you find a solution let us know

    Dave

    Welcome to the Forum

Oo er never really thought about this before

Try looking at www.realoem.com in the trim section (I think) it may help or Pictures of an M135 for clues

You could also ask BMW Customer Services or a really good Body Shop

Sorry that's all I can think of
