  1. BMW E53 X5 Type 87 20" Wheels and Tyres in very good usable condition no cracks welds or buckles Tyres are almost new Front 285x40x20 Rear 315x35x20 these will fit any E53 not suitable for E70 models £500
  2. Morning Charles Refurb costs will be dictated by the amount of work needed to get them in a good state, so get at least 3 prices with itemised work to be done. I brought a spare set for my E53 4.6is which I use as winter wheels. Dave
  3. Morning Mark If you have hands free through car play have you cleared the phones connection to the OEM bluetooth? First I would go back over the install just to be sure then try the Battery reset Happy to meet halfway sometime to see if I can help if that doesn't do the trick Dave PS. When disconnecting the battery Neg first reconnecting Neg last
  4. Morning Dan Welcome to the Forum You could first check one of the Vin De-coder websites to check what was ordered on the original build sheet or if you brought from a BMW Dealer ask them why Enjoy your new Beemer Dave
  5. Morning Velin Welcome to the Forum If the key blade is a different pattern and doesn't work then it's highly possible that either the previous owner brought a cheap replacement just to sell with 2 keys. Or he had 2x1 series cars and now has another keyset just like yours 😅 As Stu says try re-programming the Fob that may work the final solution is BMW for another key £££. As an aside my E53 (2003) is still operating on the original OEM keys both work, my E70 (2009) has had 2 battery changes Dave
  6. Morning Mark Welcome to the Forum I had read about Carplay plug in's giving issues but had never seen it until I was offered my current E70 3.0d very cheap the Guy who owned it had tried and tried to fix it spent more money than he wanted to. He took it to a BMW Dealer who sucked their teeth and told him he may have to replace the whole system !!! That did it he sold the car advertised for a silly low price, I brought it unplugged the carplay box reset the car then fitted an Erisin Android screen a £300 Ebay special 🤣 My plan was if it worked great, sell it for a profit (I still have my X5 E53 4'6is) in fact it looks far better than the OEM screen (more modern) it has a a huge amount of Apps built in including Carplay, Android Auto and much more better Sat Nav choice etc etc Plus it worked straight out of the box retains all the OEM functions as well as adding all the Android stuff all operated from the OEM controller. I kept the car still driving it and the 4.6is is in store comes out on special occasions So have you tried disconnecting the battery for 15mins or so a Dealer reset trick, it will sometimes trigger warnings which will reset themselves. Have you removed the OEM Bluetooth unit? With luck there will be a member on here close to you who has software that can help if not I am in West Sussex Dave
  7. Welcome to the Forum Donal ENJOY Dave
  8. Morning Ryan Sounds like a good buy Use google for test parameters for the sensors you should be able to check them with a multi-meter Fingers crossed it's the simple fix ENJOY Dave
  9. Morning Kelly Welcome to the Forum Nice car enjoy If you check ZF's website they advise that the transmission is serviced between 60000km and 100000km depending on use and climate. Sadly around the time your car was made BMW used to tell people the transmission is "Sealed for Life" what they meant by "Life" was the end of their Warranty responsibility. Strangely BMW now sell service kits for Transmissions The gearbox it probably the most abused part of most cars not just BMW but it is also very tough So many run for the life of the car without service, the downside is if they go wrong they become very expensive to repair If I were you I would get your transmission serviced Google should help you find a good transmission specialist or ZF centre neat you who are capable of doing the work. With the weather like this top down and enjoy your Beemer Dave
  10. Check the Inter cooler and its hoses Could be oil building up in there Dave
  11. From the wiring diagram in TIS the signal wire Black Green trace goes to the immobiliser. You are right about the fuel pump feed just me thinking out loud again I guess finding out if the relay is powered and working or not is the next step Dave
  12. Morning Moses Welcome to the Forum A flat or disconnected battery can trigger all sorts of Fault warnings which should all reset with a good Diagnostic reader steering angle sensor reset by turning the wheel lock to lock a few times. The air suspension is it all 4 corners or just the rear ? When the engine is started does the compressor run ? If it it doesn't check connections fuses and the level sensors. If the compressor runs and the bags inflate check for leaks If you are not aware check www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of the Vin into the search box it will bring up your model then look at the front and rear axel sections it will let you see what should be there Good luck Dave
  13. Hi Ryan Welcome to the Forum I hope you brought the car from a Garage and not Private sale To know for sure you need a diagnostic session with a garage or mechanic who knows BMW's The problem could be a wheel sensor so get it checked out. If you brought from a Garage they should fix it for you if it was a recent purchase Dave
  14. Morning Chris Welcome to the Forum Always check these things carefully get referrals before parting with hard earned cash Old Blokes advice Dave
  15. Morning Paul Welcome to the Forum Never seen or heard of anyone using the App but from what I read all the App does is set the clutch in the transfer box to 0 torque. You still have all the components, Transfer case, Front Diff, Front Driveshaft all turning plus the weight. If you have a transfer case problem it will still be there. So this old bloke doesn't see the point if you want rear drive I would trade the car. Dave
  16. Morning I believe the lower one is the signal wire Just a thought if you jury rig a supply to the fuel pump will it run ? Dave
  17. Hi Tino Dont know if you are aware but take a look at www.pelicanparts.com look at their "how too" section they have some great stuff with pictures and descriptions The black wire is it solid Black or Black with a Green trace? Dave
  18. John OK normally any issues with clutch release bearing DMF etc will change with pressing the clutch Me thinking out loud Things that can cause a shake Engine mounts ? Gearbox mount ? exhaust mounts ? Rattles heat shields and under trays loose Hope this helps not hinders Dave
  19. Hi Tino Seems like you have done a thorough job The Relay you have highlighted is the Fuel Pump Relay as far as I am aware I will have a dig into the wiring diagrams for the starter to see if I can help with the Black wire Dave
  20. Hi John Welcome to the Forum Who changed the DMF and Clutch and did they change the throw out bearing ?? If your foot is on the clutch does it make a difference? Have all the heat shields been checked for tightness ? Dave
  21. Hi John If the leak is just a weep it could well be missed at service as they are more interested in getting the job done, and yes it could well have been topped up what was on the invoice/receipt It was more your description "a sweet smell" that got me thinking coolant Dave
  22. Hi Steve Welcome to the Forum What instructions did the camera come with? You need to Identify what the Red and Yellow wires signify (a wild guess Red permanent live Yellow ACC (Switched) live) If the camera is not connected to the car is it running on it's own battery in which case it could be power saving Dave
  23. Hi John That is the back of the diesel particulate filter you have high lighted Your turbo chargers have a cooling system if there is a leak in the cooling system and coolant gets on to a hot turbo or exhaust you will get smoke and a sweet smell. When driving it will tend to blow away under the car It is a fiddle but checking all the hoses in that area is the only way, have you had to top up coolant at all ?? Dave
  24. Morning Justin Welcome to the Forum Changing the battery in the key fob shouldn't need any surgery (before or after the change 😅 Remove the emergency key from the fob, turn the fob over and use the end of the key to prize open the back of the fob. With the fob open use the end of the key to prize open the battery cover release the battery and replace it. Then put it back together 🤣 I have a neighbour who insisted I show her how and she managed it without breaking any finger nails Several videos on the internet now Good luck Dave
  25. Morning Steve The small turbo is working hard from low revs the bigger one comes on song mid range so while it is spinning it isnt under load. My logic says if your in there get both checked and refurbed, you will curse if you do one and in a couple of months !!! Also make sure the intercooler is clean inside (no oil) Dave
