That's the dilemma....I certainly don't have sound switched on (my dialogue could be construed as aggressive towards other motorists) and I also notice that I tend to drive more considerately when the dash cam is running.
So it can be used to moderate your driving style but also as you say, it can condemn in the event of an accident where it is your word against theirs.
You don't have to forward to footage to insurance companies though but in the clear-cut case of the other motorist being at fault then it's a definite 'must have' driving accessory.

Hi Ryan
That's an odd one...although I'm sure someone else will know the root cause.
My thoughts are that it must be a faulty switch unit but without fitting expensive replacement parts I'm not sure what to suggest to diagnose it further.
Sorry not much help, hopefully someone else may have some ideas?

It's certainly a lot of work to replace the engine and associated components....maybe worth selling the car and replacing it with the engine size you want?

Hi Geoff....welcome back and lovely to see your new M6....and not at all jealous
It certainly is a beautiful car and I'm sure it's a dream to drive?

Hi Tony
I think the technology in a vehicle of this age is quite restrictive, it may be better to fit an aftermarket unit with many more functions and connectivity if far superior.
I replaced the head unit in my Z3 and it is superb for making phone calls and streaming Music from Spotify....only £75 as well.

Would be interested to know the outcome as got to attend to mine at some point in time....too much to do on it until then though :-(

They certainly look like quality replacements but as you say....difficult to fit so may be easier to rub down and repaint the originals while still fitted to the mirror assembly

I use a DTUK Tuning Box on my Honda CRV 2.2 cdti and it is superb...much better economy and driveability

Maybe worth having a go on some smaller and easier parts yourself and at least that will cut down on the cost.
Seen it done and looked easy enough...although I don't think i would make a good job of it myself...no patience!

P13B6 BMW - Crankshaft Exhaust Camshaft Reference Angle Difference Outside Of Limit Value
Read more: https://www.engine-codes.com/search_codes.php?q=p13B6Would check the timing belt / chain as if slack this could possibly cause this fault

what next?
Upgrade or keep standard?

look forward to hearing whether it has worked or not

Hi Oliver...welcome to the Forum
I would definitely get a second opinion on the diagnosis as it could be driveshaft, wheel bearing, brakes or just about anything else in the area after contacting the debris but can't say I have ever heard of a differential being affected by contacting road debris.
Let us know how you get on with it

Hi Stephen....welcome to the Forum
Sounds like it could be oil condition related,....maybe a good flush through will cure it.
Let us know how it gets on at the garage
Cheers, Trevor

Sounds initially like it could be down to tyre size, tread or the fact that you are overcooking it into roundabouts in which case any of these factors could invoke the TC.
But worth checking the diagnostic memory for fault codes or live data with respect to the driveline as there could be a fault with one or more sensors (angle or speed/position sensors)

I definitely think there is pros and cons but I also think that the majority of drivers are wary of using them.
