winter will impact fuel consumption... whether its the cold air burning the fuel up quicker (ok that was a guess but a reasonable guess at that ) :P

I thought modern diesels dont have to wait for glow plugs to heat, I could be wrong but the few diesels that i have driven do not have to wait, fires up Always try it.. turn the ignition on, wait 5 secs then fire her up.

on your keyfob if you hold the unlock button down and keep holding does the windows unwind? if it is then its the keyfob in your pocket. Get BMW to disable that feature

my advice is to find a classic cars garage that specialise in selling and servicing classics and see what they say, they will give you right advice mate
