Every time I go over a bump, something inside the drivers side door clunks, obviously something loose in there. Anyone had similar experience and found out what it is? I think it might be something to do with the window mechanism - YouTube videos suggest some bolts that need tightening under the door card, which I am led to believe is an easy removal?

Any help as usual is greatly appreciated.

Door card is and easy removal but make sure you have some spare plastic trim clips as they are easy to break. But before you do make sure all the door pockets are empty

Any idea as to what my problem might be once I get the door card off? Is there any way of checking if the window bolts are loose before taking it off?

If I remember, the clamps that hold the windows in are prone to perish and the window jumps in the track. 
try putting the window Galway down and then pulling it up and toward the front of the car and see if it moves or clunks. 
 

Like Stu says try moving stuff difficult to say untill you get inside and pull/push and shake stuff could be window glass moving or a simple loose bolt

Great advice Dave. I remember the early days of my apprenticeship....Marina's had an in built rattle. Had so many cards off but never resolved issue.
