  1. Don't know if they suffer from the same problems other makes of car have. They may be alright on the BMW. Other makes suffer from heat soak which reduces performance even with a good air feed. I have found performance replacement panel filters a little better and don't suffer from heat soak because they are protected by the normal airbox. Also you shouldn't have problems with the insurance as the other type you will definitely have to inform them as it is a modification.
  2. That's close. Im down the road in South Woodham Ferrers. I will be looking out for you
  3. Welcome to the club Jack. Where in Essex are you?
  4. I have not seen any but am wondering how easy it would be to make one using some mesh.
  5. Could you give us some more details, such as when it happens? Does it sound like it is coming from a corner of the car? Which corner? Is it a constant noise or does it appear linked to speed or engine revs etc?

  7. Nice to see another Bruce on the forum. Mabe we could start our own club. Welcome along Bruce from Bruce.
  8. Welcome to the club Jonathan. That is well low.
  9. The missus wont allow it so I've not had a bike for over 20 years. Seems a waste of a full license to me. Last bike I had was a CBR 600 FK. Loved it.
  10. Cant see that as being an issue although a main dealer may not be happy. Welcome to the club Mike
  11. Does it really matter? Its quick.
  12. The owners manual is useless. It doesn't state the grade and type just BMW Longlife - 01, BMW Longlife - 01 FE or BMW Longlife - 04. Alternatively BMW Longlife - 98, or ACEA A3. A quality 5/30 Fully Synthetic should be fine.
  13. Welcome Danny. As already mentioned that is a cracking colour.
  14. I have seen one with 50k miles up for £3,200 private and I have seen a later one up for £4,995 with a dealer. There was another dealer trying to sell a 1990 version for £20k with 15k miles on the clock but I think that was wishful thinking. Realistically I think it should be worth £6k. Its in fabulous condition and very low miles and near on impossible to replace. Someone else may have a different figure in mind.
  15. I don't think your just having a grump. Arnold Clark have a poor reputation for things like this. Chances are you will never go to them again. Its an issue with a lot of dealers that turn over a vast amount of cars. They cannot maintain the quality.
  16. Welcome to the club Paul and keep us up to date with how your repairs are going.
