  1. It could be a number of things including the Universal Joint, Rear Bushes, Rear Shocks or even the Dif. I would have thought the first to go would be the UJ as it is probably the weakest point.
  2. Welcome along Mark
  3. Welcome to the club Gavin
  4. Thanks. Its Le Mans Blue. Took me ages to find one in this colour with this spec.
  5. EML came on again on Monday night. I was decellerating from Motorway speeds to 40mph when it came up. Again no running problems. Got home, put scanner on it and turned the light off. My universal scanner doesn't read the BMW codes so have ordered a BMW specific one so I can see what the issue is. When I restarted the car the light did not return so am wondering if it is just an over sensitive sensor or one is on the way out. Car has only done 40k miles.

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/jan/23/anpr-automated-numberplate-recognition-cameras Apparently there are up to 8000 ANPR cameras (well according to this report). However I completely agree with you that there is nothing like visual evidence as most of these cameras will be on Motorways and very few in residential areas or on B roads
  14. I saw this advert and thought I would give it a try: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/thederangeddr-21/detail/B005Q6CJI4 At less than £11 I wasn't expecting much. It arrived yesterday so I put in my car today. It comes with a 3m power lead so you can put it anywhere on the windscreen and run the cable and tuck it away and still reach the power socket. Its also got a rechargeable battery, screen suction mounting kit and a USB Lead. I stuck in a 2gb SD card I had lying around and I was amazed at how good it is for the money. The sound isn't great but what do you expect for this price.

  16. Welcome to the club Tom. Just seen your post. How did the car turn out?
  17. I'm well jealous. I have a garage and a carport and no space for a project car. I'm going to have to move.

I'm sure most Traffic Cars have these. There might only be 20 in one area. However in 2011 there were 4000 cameras in fixed locations and this number is thought to have doubled over the last three years.
  19. You can still tell your mate the electrician was a waste of time but thanks anyway. Your mate may avoid wasting his time in the future as well should he need an electrician.
  20. You must have a huge garage.
  21. Welcome to the club Darren.
  22. Very nice. The smile never goes.
  23. Apparently the Midland Gearboxes fitted to the Mini Ones and Coopers produced before 2004 are prone to failure. Usually a lot of whining from the box precedes failure so your symptoms sound less common. Hopefully a simple fix.
  24. Hi Kirk. Welcome to the club and good luck with your search. I spend a lot of time in Shropshire as I have family there. Love that part of the country.
