  1. My oil cooler has collapsed from the car and pulled the pipework across the fan and sliced them open, I`m looking for an oil cooper and the pipework to fit an n reg e36 325tds engine, mot is looming and need it fixed :(

    Suspension Knock

Well it looks like my oil cooler has come away and cracked hence all the oil shooting up into the engine so nothing at all serious thank god, although now the idea has been put in my head I am very tempted to either sell the car or break it for the leather interior and alloys and fund a e30 going to see what interest i have in it first

Could be snapped spring, worn bushes, although a sneaky problem could be a bust damper thats leaked all its lube out and the muck off the road is hiding it

    My first bmw

Nice i think the E36s look really agressive with the right stance, cant wait to see some pics :) what needs doing to yours?
  10. If your even thinking of mpg then a 3.0 isnt for you, If you can afford the insurance at that age go for it but dont waste your money, I`d rather be able to go out once in awhile and not think well i`d like to go out and see my friends but my entire pay is going on car insurance and fuel (damn that supra)
  11. Mine has 272k on the clock and still pulls like a train and shows up any "young`in" that trys to take it, parts wise i wouldnt worry about, the cars are rwd and alot have been sent to that scrapyard in the sky thanks to asfor-mentioned "young`in" thinking they can drift after watching fast and furious so parts are a plenty, model wise depends on what you like the look of, mines a E36 325 tds but i`ll always want an E30
  12. Well out of £20 i got 120 miles out of my 325tds and i planted my foot alot aswell so i dont think thats bad :D
  13. You should never worry about milage on a bm if my car is anything to go by, Its n reg with 271k on the clock and still pulls like a train :D Bmw for the win!

    hi

Welcome to the club i`m in the north to just on the other side, also a new member and first bm lol
  15. Hopefully i`ll be doing this tonight or tomorrow but either way.... I noticed when i`m braking at any speed could be 5mph or 60 on the very odd occasion the brake pedal feels stiff/scratchy (my technical talk there xD) and the brakes seem to only work at 25% capacity however taking your foot off and reapplying fixes the problem, I thought this might have something to do with a tempermental abs sensor as my bm has quite high miles. Either way took it down the garage and set to work with my brother and its an abs ring thats on the way and apprently its not an uncommon problem so i`ll do my best to take some photos as i go and post them up in the hopes if anyone else is having this problem it`ll be a little help
  16. I always try to drive carefully and normally i do fine saving fuel until like you said... a chav comes up in his tin box and you automatically think haha i dont think so, happened to me this morning taking the fiance to work and on the way home mk4 golf right up my boot so dropped a gear, planted the foot and left him thinking wtf
  17. I`ve just bought my first BM and it has 270k on the clock and it pulls like a train and the gearbox is crisp obviously bmw built their cars to stand the test of time/boyracers mine only had 1 owner from new and has a full history but on mine I noticed the previous owner has fitted a new fuel pump at some point and a full gasket fitted also so if its a high mile car your looking at i`d check for leaks also my friends 325tds lost its crack when the gasket went and he never bothered with it, Knocks and bangs also as rear wheel drive and tokyo drift has proberly given some mid-life crisis men or yobos the idea that they can it do and maybe bust a drop link or damper on the back, heavyily kerbed back wheels would suggest that to

    My first bmw

This is my first bmw and i love it to pieces, its been dropped on e36 lowering spring set i dont know the make, It has momo alloys they have a ferreri badge on the rim dunno why but they have made in italy on them to lol, full leather interior.. the driver side has some wear and tear but going to feed it later and give it all a good scrub. the paint work looks tatty in the photos but i've been out in it all morning testing the brakes and its covered in all the crap off the road erm.. its got every mot since new, only had 1 owner from new so i`m just the second :D full history and pulls like a train so feel free to comment :)
  19. Now with photos!Granted it needs a wash and driving around all morning the in rain doesnt make it look any tidier, Brakes have been perfect today so i`m suspecting the problem might have been where it was stood in a vented garage for so long but either way still giving them a going over after this post, Any feedback on my first bm would be nice so heres the pics as promised
  20. Lol looks like a really tidy motor there, I`ll try get some photos of mine up tomorrow as someone has put some money into it before i got it, Its had one owner from new before i got it lol it still had the old style logbook :P Will prob be 6pm onwards tomorrow before i get on as i suspect my Abs sensor is faulty with the random way my brakes seem to be perfect then the pedal seems to go stiff and the brakes seem to give up until i release the brake then reapply pressure, I`ll find out and fix it tomorrow and post my findings out on here to help other members, As for shows Yeah I`ll be doing shows during the summer I think Essex is abit far for me to go though lol Plans for my car once its fixed is a fresh respray and I`m used to jap/ford petrols so really looking forward to what i can do with the tds unit anyways i better get some kip cya :)
  21. A newbie welcome from a fellow newbie I`m an ex-fordy myself so your not alone, I think i just got sick of always having to fix something and wanted a more reliable car to work on and of course real cars are real wheel drive ;)
  22. I think my abs sensor is on the blink i`m running it down to my brothers garage tomorrow to work on it, If anyone else is having the same kind of problem or something similiar send a reply on here and i`ll report my findings out tomorrow night and hopefully it will help other members
  23. Oh dear, jumped in the car and the brake warning light came on, Brakes felt fine up until the 2nd junction then it felt like it does when u lose traction and it skids abit but took foot off the brake then back on and it was fine so hoping its something silly like low fluids i noticed a whirrling sound for about a 3 seconds almost coming from the centre of the dash when it did feel weird, althought the light went off when i restarted the car to check the light again
