Hi everybody, Phoned the club insurance yesterday gave all my details to the lady on the phone, she then told me she would ring or email me back with quote,she never did. Rang today explained the situation to her,she put me on hold for some time, then came back with no quote saying they couldn't match a quote from swift cover that i had given her ! So much for club discount.

Hi the key charges every time it's in the ignition, so no batteries required. The central locking can be programmed to do different things so you may have to push the lock button twice. If it still doesn't work the key may need re-programme from BMW! My cd player plays up now and again all I do is take discs out and put back in seems to work. This might seem stupid but have you checked in the boot that there is a DVD player next to the cd player? Someone may have removed it and that why you get no signal to rear screens.

Great car, mine does 30mpg average ,handles really well ,is fast safe and doesnt wheel spin in the wet like 5 series does. Go for it they are superb.

The bushes on the front are the main problem area for an x5, the rears do go after about 80,000. But I had a squeak on the rear and it was the exhaust shield and all it needed was a new bolt with a lager washer to re secure it to the body. Also check the rear rubbers that hold the exhaust boxes in place they crack over time and the exhaust boxes can move around and make a noise.

No problems in the snow in my x5, blast through the White stuff! Bring it on.

Hi guys, on mine all you have to do is make sure the mirror switch is flicked to operate the passenger mirror and it stops it dipping in reverse.

Hi Gerry, the remote on certain cars needs to be pushed twice to unlock all the car doors. The first press of the button can be programed to only open the drivers door.The other problem may be that the key battery is flat.When the key is placed in the ignition it is automatically recharged. If its not been used much you need to take the car for a good drive to charge it. IF you still have a problem BMW can reprogram the key to do all types of functions. The gearbox could be lots of things, autos start to jump out of gear when they get high mileage and selectors get worn. Will need to go on computer to get fault codes. could be electrical.

try taking the battery lead off and wait about 30 secs for everything to clear. may re set sat nav. if no joy it must be set up wrong so you need to get the manual out.

Hi guys I have owend an x5 diesel for the past 5 months and mine averages around 30mpg.That includes lots of town driving around Birmingham. On a run upto sheffield on the M1 i can get it up to 38mpg as long as you keep to 70mph. Make sure you have the correct size tryes on it and that the PSI is correct. Use good quality fuel , i use shell which is the same price as Morrison fuel. You could try putting diesel cleaner in the tank, it keeps pipes and injectors clean. At the end of the day fuel economy is mainly due to your right foot and if you live in hilly area it will use lots more.
