I'm only guessing here as never done it myself but if the replacement engine is only a larger capacity then it would be done by bore or stroke and as long as you swap over as many ancillaries and components as possible then it should work okay
Let us know what you discover

Hi James...welcome to the Forum
I think Greydog summed it up nicely....Warranty! as long as you have a comprehensive warranty then you should be okay.
Good luck with your purchase

If you trickle water over the auxiliary drivebelts and see if the noise goes then its just dry belts causing the noise.
If it doesn't go, then possible tensioner bearings, etc

Hi David....welcome to the Forum
Sounds like the glow plugs need replacing to get it starting properly.
You could try a tuning box (DTUK do a good one)

Hi Stephen....welcome to the Forum
Ebay is as good as anywhere really...bought some panels for my Z3 from a guy in Chippenham who has about 15 of them that he breaks up...always sells on eBay

Hi Phil
Sorry, not sure what these wheels are but I wonder if they may be copies of an Alpine wheel as when you look at the centre where the wheel bolts are, there are no markings which you normally expect to see (rim sizes, BS number, etc).
Hope you find a suitable replacement.

Will post up some piccies as and when I tackle the mods, Cheers

Hi Gil...welcome to the Forum
You can occasionally find an ABS ring of the right dimensions through some suppliers.
Here are some for other BMW models although probably quite similar if same diameter and number of teeth, etc

I've got a year 2000 Z3 2.0 ltr....needs a bit of work on it now...probably just right for modding I would say!

Great looking car! Looks the business

lol...played that game....I believe from memory you have to really push it back hard at the same time.
Q2 I think this is a programming process rather than a physical unplugging of leads, etc. You should be able to programme it back in by following a sequence (not sure of the sequence though I'm sure someone on here does)

yes, after 2007 should be okay

certainly looks effective once its wrapped
Not sure about the exhaust...apart from replacing the rear silencer which would enhance the exhaust tone and possibly offer some performance increase

Hi Karl....welcome back to the wonderful world of BMW

Yes, come across that before...but if its the seat occupancy sensor that's faulty it is the passenger one that it's referring to

Hi Jay....welcome to the Forum
It's obviously worth looking for one that has full service history, preferably dealer history but independent specialist repairer is just as good.
Look at whether the swirl flaps in the inlet manifold have been removed and plugged up so they don't drop into the engine
http://bmwspecialistreading.co.uk/what-are-swirl-flaps/
Otherwise, they are a pretty good car, but worth trawling the posts on here to see what other issues arise.
Keep us updated on you potential purchase.
Cheers Trevor

I think it is the seat occupancy sensor mat which usually break and flag up a code for the front passenger seat
Here is a link to one of many bypass kits available to switch it off

certainly look great !
any drawbacks or anything to look out for when getting a car wrapped?
Thinking about getting one of my cars wrapped but never had it done before

Hi Rich
I have found with remapping that it is the improved flexibility of the engine/drivetrain that does it for me.
Makes it smoother and flexible in round-town driving and economy improved on extra-urban runs allowing me to come off throttle/turbo a little which improves things all round.
Cost, well...that's a little harder to justify

Hi Marinaman....welcome to the Forum
The X5 is a gerat car but I would have gone for the motorbike personally

Hi Daniel...welcome to the Forum
I totally agree with Greydog's comments....the components that have been replaced are common place on a lot of cars around a certain mileage and if it has been a company car, the mere suggestion that the gearbox is hesitant or the performance is slightly dropped then these components could have been replaced as a matter of course.
As for the colour choice...its a personal thing I suppose. I personally love silver cars and very rarely go for any other colour...each to their own :-)

Hi Jake...welcome to the Forum
Great looking car!
I always work on the principle of getting the best you can for the money and I think the Eisenmann is worth the high cost
Let us know how you get on with this
Cheers, Trevor
