  1. Hi Norman

So there is no power at the connectors? From what I have read there is a fuse but it controls both sides so I would check the earth point for that side and the bulbs and holders. Try swapping bulbs side to side perhaps?

    Welcome to the Forum

BMW have a fine mesh filter/screen around the bottom of the pump if a screen wash has been used that doesn't have a fungicide added a jelly like mess clogs the mesh and stops the washers working. If you cant do it yourself you need a friend who can remove the pump and either change the filter or simply wash it under the tap, also check that the washer reservoir is cleaned out as the sticky stuff may be floating around in there.

Take a look at www.realoem.com either look for your model or put the last 7 digits of your Vin onto the search box it will bring up your model. You will find small exploded drawings that will help see where stuff fits.

  3. Morning Johnathon

    Welcome to the Forum

This used to come up often with the E53 normally it was only with the Halogen Lamps but I thought the E70 were all either Xenon or Bi Xenon? Check the light units are original, there have been people who have swapped pre-LCI for LCI lamps not realising you need to upgrade the wiring. Check the actual lamp you could upgrade to Osram Night Breaker I have read lots of good reports.

I would start by checking all wiring pay attention to the earth, check realoem.com for part numbers to make sure yours are correct for your car.

First do you have a tow bar fitted ? If you do then first check the connections at the trailer plug, check the PDC controller (there is a connector black I think that lets the control system know the trailer is connected) The last is a check on the LCM for faults so a code read will be required, while reading the fault codes you could turn off the trailer light check.

Look at realoem.com they call it an "oddments tray" cant see any thing that is specific as a glasses holder. It would be a straight swap for your ashtray and give more room inside. For an insert maybe find a vacuum formed insert or chat up someone with a 3d printer

  6. Hi John

    Welcome to the Forum

Like many manufacturer Main Dealers if it isn't in the manual it can;t be done !!

I have read that  if you have the voice command button on the steering wheel and telephone prep in place then all you need is the voice command module and the cable harness

Check www.realoem.com (a BMW online parts list), put the last 7 digits of your Vin in the search box then check the relevant section for what is required

    Good luck

  8. Happy New Year Paul

Mine were an own goal !! the rear lights were faded and cloudy polished them a couple of times but still didn't look good, So I brought new replacements fitted them mid year, first winter couldn't work out where the water was coming from in the boot. Finally worked it back to the rear clusters and sealed them up nothing since. I have read a lot of posts on other websites where the same thing has happened.

  9. Morning Matt

Water isn't the friend of electrical equipment or engines. If your car ingested water into the inlet side it could be laying in the intercooler.

I woul find a BMW Specialist or trusted Independent who has a BMW capable diagnostic program. They will be able to check there are no sensor or control unit issues, make sure the intercooler is clear so your not sucking more water in.

I would talk to BBA Reman or ECU Testing, both companies are well known and have good reputations for repairing/improving parts that BMW (and other Manufacturers say you can't)

You can also check the BMW Specialist Recyclers I have used Quarry Motors in the past they are knowledgeable and quick.

    Good Luck

  11. Morning Adam

Seasons Greetings and Welcome to the Forum

The X drive cars are very sensitive to a difference in rolling radius of tyres (all AWD cars are) as you only changed the front tyres there could be that you are experiencing Transmission wind up. Reverse slowly on full lock if you feel any snatching or jerking then it is probably a tyre problem. Ideally all 4 tyres should be changed at the same time to try and ensure rolling radius is in tolerance. You should also make sure the same tyre/tread pattern is on each corner. Get apiece of chalk and make a mark at the bottom of a front and rear tyre, roll the car forward one revolution of the front tyre (chalk mark at the bottom) the rear should match if it doesn't there is the problem.

If it is a Tyre issue you will cause damage to the transfer case which is more expensive than tyres to fix.
