Model Car
Yep, German version! It has since arrived and pics do not do it justice. It really does look fabulous. Took 2 days from Germany by DHL. I am well chuffed. They are here BTW: https://ck-modelcars.de/en/

Re mapping
The problem with a remap is that it’s permanent (unless you pay to get original map back). This can cause issues with warranties, etc. OR you might not like it. I have used Bluefin on lots of different cars. Superchips always err on the side of caution and do not promise massive gains. That said my gained 60 hp. With Bluefin, you have a hand held device which plugs into the OBD2 port. It transfers the modified map and leaves your original on the handset should you ever wish to go back: https://www.mybluefin.co.uk

Aftermarket mechanical parts
I agree with Dave. The only issue tends to be body parts - wings, etc. They can need a lot of "adjusting" before they fit.

Model Car
I just had to have this. 1/18 scale is around 11 (ish) inches long: Thanks Julie (wife) for agreeing to buy for Chrimbo https://ck-modelcars.de/en/norev-1-18-bmw-m3-f80-competition-year-2016-sakhir-orange-80432411553/p-32959/?fbclid=IwAR3rAiQE8Ghnhb6HqYCjlwjsJ_LcPnGFKY0odP9T-XoUOwU13co2eVldgZM

E53 3.0i engine noise
It's hard to tell from the video. Sounds awful though. Did you buy it like that?

Possible New Car
Thanks Dave, They wouldn't move on price. We were around £2k away so I walked away. Lovely car though.

dash warning light
I think it can also mean excessive wear on pads?

air vent default
Heating controls on BMW's are on one hand simplistic, on the other hand a nightmare to master. 18 months on, and I still don't get it 🥵

330e Grinding brakes
I don't get grinding but I do get horrible loud squeaks every now and again. If I brake lightly, I can hear it quite loud. Prior to my ownership, it was serviced by BMW 2 days before. I picked it up on the road test but they could not find anything. My guy has since had a good look. Copper grease on the back of the pads has made no difference. For now, I am learning to live with it.

Front Strut Brace
Anyone fitted one? I did recently since the F30 chassis is not really up to the power some of these engines produce. Mine has been "adapted" to around 370 bhp. Wow the difference that brace makes to handling. I would highly recommend. I paid less than £100.00 for steel 3 piece unit.

Main Dealer Vs Independent Garage
I took mine to a local guy. Not a specialist but he does own an M3. I have the software and tools to establish any fault, he would then just fix. Last Service + MOT was £279.00 but I supplied the Mobil superstuff.

F30 Intercooler Recall
Had this done last week. Probably the first and last time I enter a BMW dealership 😁 I consider myself lucky compared to these guys: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bmw/105051/bmw-egr-recall-owners-spend-months-without-cars-while-waiting-for-repairs
