  1. I think the 330d might be a good option check Parkers for the mpg info I doubt u will double the mpgs and keep the power the 330 comes close though
  2. Thanks folks once I get it I'll get a pic or two on. What is drift FTW ( I know the drift part lol)
  3. my mate crack the kerb in his doing that :) he got away with it though.
  4. im sure i will learn and adapt and sill love it lol :) Winter has always been my favourite time to drive. This one will be a little more exciting me thinks lol
  5. I found that turning off the traction control was better for a front wheel drive as it kept flicking the power about and making the car a little unpredictable. turn it off and use the processing power of my right foot usually worked waaay better. i suspect the BMW processing on a RWD will be a little better than that of my right foot :)
  6. lol im looking forward to it. I regularly hit the combi cycle mpg on the focus on the commute as its pretty much straight road with few start stops and a couple o roundabouts so im expecting good MPGs on the BM. i dont do very much city driving at all. how are they on the old white stuff the thing i loved (the only thing really) about the ST was that in the snow it was just unbelievably good i usually succeeded where most others failed. im guessing stay off the power on bends will be a good piece of advice :)
  7. Hi Gav :) How is the 320D to run? i took the decision to go diesel as i have been running a focus ST170 for the past 5 years and it just costs a fortune on tyres and fuel and im not even a mad driver. im fairly sedate most of the time until im on the country roads then ill have my fun :)

    Runflats

TBH I have never used Runflats and the car I am about to pick up does not have em on it. I had a look on mytyre website and found that if your going for premium tyres the difference in cost is only around £20-£30 per corner. Although I am used to running a car with 215 width so tyres were always costly. IMHO I think its a fair price to pay I would rather not have the spare or have to use that tyre weld crap which renders a repairable tyre almost unusable. That said im unsure of the laws regarding runflats I think I read that you cannot have them repaired for whatever reason. The added benefit of then is that if you get a puncture in the middle of the motorway you just keep driving no faffing about. I think to say if you have a flat your not gonna drive it isnt the most intelligent statement(no offence intended mate0) of course you wont, but you may pick up the puncture on the move. A rapidly deflating tyre can easily come off the rim at speed if you dont notice it. The runflat sensor picks up tyre pressure BTW there is nothing inside the tyre its just stiffer tyre walls. These tyres can run with 0 PSI so all in all I personally with replace the tyres on mine with runflats when I can/need to.
