Replacing Front Control Arm Bushings On Bmw 330

Hi guys

I have a 2003 BMW 330Ci convertible, and on its last MOT prior to me buying it, it was advised that the front bushes will soon need replacing.

I've just called my mechanic, and he's said that it could be more than a days work depending on if the bushes are replaceable or if they are built into the control arm.

Does anyone know if the bushes are replaceable on a 2003 e46 BMW 330Ci?

I'm hoping so as otherwise it'll probably cost me a fortune I'd imagine :-S

Cheers

Paul

Swing arm and a lollipop bush mate x2

3 hours work, £200 for parts.

How good are you with a spanner?

I have a 330ci with everything stripped except exactly that, I could do you some photos

Cheers Gav :)

Do you have any ideas no part / model numbers or where to buy the parts?

I'm not bad with a spanner... but I'd probably need to take it to a garage to get done as I don't have a ramp

Dont need a ramp mate..

Just jack a side a time up and make sure she is secure..

There you go mate, less the £100

Honestly its a simply job, just the middle nut a little difficult to get to.

I changed all these 3 times in one year on my saloon due to it being so low..

I can now change them in just over an hour and half.

Awesome thanks - will have to order them!

With your E46, did you lower it yourself? I bought the car with Sports Springs and it technically won't pass its MOT as there is too ittle a gap between the wheels and the body - so if anyone sits in the back seats the wheels rub against the wheel arches.

I'm just also wondering what the difference is between standard springs and sports springs - so i can raise the rear up just enough to make it MOT - passable, but also keep it lowered?
