HI Fokes , I want to buy some new headlights for my car but i need to know if it is facelift or pre facelift , how do i find this out ? I have spoken to 2 BMW main agents and they didnt know so i need your help chaps . My car is a 523i se saloon , the build date is June 2000 and was first registerd on 1st September 2000

2001 was the lights update mate

Pre FL me finx as your model is June... FL (or Angel Eyes) were introduced from September builds making them a 2001 model as Gav mentioned ;)

Yes the 523i is a pre facelift as it has the old 2.5 170bhp engine where as the facelift are baged as 525i and have the 2.5 190bhp engine.

Hmmmm interesting I thought as much as am I right in thinking the rear lights from 2001 on wards are more of a crystal jeweled effect unlike mine ?????

Yes but I think yours maybe aftermarket front and back... Check behind the clusters for a BMW stamp ;)
