  1. Hi I’m new here, but hoping someone with electrical knowledge might be able to give some advice. I have a 4 year old 118i (new fwd model). I took the car in for service a couple of weeks ago and they sorted out a rattle under the steering column for me while they had the car. This may be completely unrelated but since we got the car back the interior lights, floor lighting and BMW logo light no longer work when opening the door. They work as soon as the engine is switched on. I’ve obviously checked the internal switch is ok. The boot light is still working fine. Every so often I get a battery low warning and presumably the two issues are related but the battery seems absolutely fine. The car starts immediately, and all the other electrics are working as normal. I’ve just got back from a 150 mile drive so I’m sure the battery is well charged. The fuses must be ok because the lights come on when the engine is running. Is it possible that the dealer disturbed some wiring when sorting out the steering column rattle or is there any hidden switch they might have adjusted to disable the lighting and avoid draining the battery? Any suggestions would be appreciated, my dealer is an hour’s drive away so I don’t want to go back if it’s something really obvious that I can fix! Many thanks
