Leak?
Hi I posted a while back re an egg smell that we’re getting from our F40 118i. The pollen filter and cat have now been checked but we’re still getting a slight smell when we’re pulling off from a stop with a hot engine. We’ve now found a slight leak as per the pic attached. Seems like thin oil. Any thoughts as what it could be please? Just wondering if it could be related to the smell. Thanks all

Egg smell
Yes, mostly local trips of 10-15 miles but the car has actually done a 100 mile motorway trip recently.

Egg smell
Hi guys Looking for some advice please. We have a 2019 118i (front drive) with 16k on the clock. All servicing is up to date. We’re getting a very slight egg like smell through the air vents when the engine is hot. It happens after we’ve slowed down or stopped, eg at lights and are then pulling off. It clears quickly and is fine when driving at normal speed. We had a transmission oil service recently and thought it may be that some old oil had spilt but that’s been checked and all is fine. We’ve also had a visual inspection of the exhaust and were told it looks like new but they couldn’t see the cat as it’s covered by the manifold. But surely a cat shouldn’t fail at 6 years / 16000 miles? Has anyone experienced anything similar? The smell is minor and the dealer can’t pick it up, but it’s definitely there, both my wife and I can smell it (and it’s not us!!). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Interior lights not working when engine off
Hi I’m new here, but hoping someone with electrical knowledge might be able to give some advice. I have a 4 year old 118i (new fwd model). I took the car in for service a couple of weeks ago and they sorted out a rattle under the steering column for me while they had the car. This may be completely unrelated but since we got the car back the interior lights, floor lighting and BMW logo light no longer work when opening the door. They work as soon as the engine is switched on. I’ve obviously checked the internal switch is ok. The boot light is still working fine. Every so often I get a battery low warning and presumably the two issues are related but the battery seems absolutely fine. The car starts immediately, and all the other electrics are working as normal. I’ve just got back from a 150 mile drive so I’m sure the battery is well charged. The fuses must be ok because the lights come on when the engine is running. Is it possible that the dealer disturbed some wiring when sorting out the steering column rattle or is there any hidden switch they might have adjusted to disable the lighting and avoid draining the battery? Any suggestions would be appreciated, my dealer is an hour’s drive away so I don’t want to go back if it’s something really obvious that I can fix! Many thanks
