Hi all, new owner and therefore new to the forum. Recently bought a 2003 x5 petrol and decided to have a lpg tank fitted (cheaper than buying diesel with same mileage/spec etc). As part of the lpg process a new battery was fitted. I've picked up the car today and only the tailgate opens remotely, the unlock and lock functions do not work on either of my keys.

I have looked at how to reprogram the key but seeing as the tailgate opens fine I'm not sure that it actually needs reproramming.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

The Battery would've been disconnected for some while for the installation... You'll more likely have to either disconnect it again or reprogram fobs !!

Might be a daft question, but do you interior lights still come on when you one the door?

Try this by shutting the doors, leave 2 mins and reopen them

Hi Gav, no the light doesnt come on. They work when i switch them but not when i open to door.

Welcome, Enjoy the forum

Hmmm Comfort relay or fob reprogram !?

Your car dont think one of doors are closed.

Check the sensors on all the doors.

Interior light would be on though...

Not all the time, they turn off after a while.

Good point...

Possibly drain the battery if LCM is getting an "Open" signal from a door... Could be way off with that one tho lol

Jac had exactly the same problem a while back.

Sprayed some WD40 in the locks, sorted.

Sounds a carbon copy.
