Hi guys, I'm a newbie, my names Debbie and until I picked up my 2009 Z4 yesterday I was a BMW virgin. I'm really pleased with the car and are looking forward to many years of happy top down motoring in him. With that in mind, can anyone point me in the right direction to buy a wind deflector please? I have briefly Googled it and can see there are many variations and prices lol.

Thanks

Hiya,

Thanks

I will try Ebay. I did go on Amazon briefly but noticed there were lots of different deflectors. some were listed as genuine BMW parts, they came like I said in different shapes and materials and prices. polished tinted glass, perspex, cloth. Just wondered if anyone had had experience of the different types and what people thought were the best ones to get.

Not sure on the fitting side either, like I said i only picked the car up yesterday afternoon....but I Love It!

Hello Debbie and welcome to BMWOC

I'm not too savi regarding drop tops as my cars are VERY much not drop tops. I'm sure someone here will be able to help :)

Cheer Daz My first 'drop top' as you put it lol....hard top gives me the benefit of both :)

I just don't wanna spend out loads on a deflector and find a cheaper one works just as well.

Thanks

Welcome to the club.

Welcome Debbie, the black metal deflectors are best, could be an idea to find a local breakers, you might be lucky, fingers crossed, Enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Thank you Big Al I will have a look round; I love going to the breakers yard with my spanners! My last car was a 22 year old MR2 so this is a big change for me and boy am i enjoying it! Re the deflectors I had thought about the clear ones purely for visabilty. I might pop into a dealers have a chat.

I have the black metal deflector, the wind travels through the metal deflectors and no problems with vision, have to be honest have not seen clear ones, but if they are solid then I would guess that the wind would bounce back, everyone I know with a Z3 & Z4 have the metal deflectors, good luck with whatever you chooses though.

welcome to bmwoc from another new member and bmw virgin :)
