Hi all

I'm looking to buy a 320d to replace my ailing VW so I'm hoping to get some answers and do some research on the things that I'm not sure about, like for example if I buy a 70k miler and do 10k a year is anything likely to go wrong (I've heard worries about turbos). Anyway, hopefully I'll have one within a couple of weeks and look forward to enjoying it :)

welcome to bmwoc mate.32od's as with all diesels are quite reliable if serviced regularly.gav is the man to ask though

Welcome to BMWOC :)

Gavs def the man to talk to about 320d's.....he may cry tho when you do as he misses his one !! lol

Welcome dude...

...Yes im still crying, i miss mine so much.

70k + 10k a year is nothing mate.

As with all e46s check suspension and bushes, these are an easy cheapish fix but use it to buying advantage.

Swirl flaps....get them blanked off asap before they get sucked in, again easy cheap fix.

Turbos are bullet proof imo dude.

Get late 2002/facelift onwards there the 150bhp models

Lastly get it remapped, will achieve 55+mpg and it will go like stink mate.

Good luck with the purchase, any more Q's ask away mate

Don't forget to tell him about the shitty swirls matey ;)

Don't forget to tell him about the !Removed! swirls matey ;)

£30 to replace, £1400 to repair...

I found out the hard way :(

Welcome, Good luck with finding your new car, enjoy the forum.
