Hi all, Im Lee from Newton Aycliffe in County Durham.

I dont actually own a BMW yet, but will be getting 1 in about 3/4 weeks. Ive been a Ford man since i got my first car at age 10 (Mk2 Escort) and have since then had every Ford from the Mk3 RST to my current V6 ST24 with every cozzy n sports version inbetween. Im now after an E36 3 series either 323/25/28 and would like some advise/info that anyones willing to throw my way.

Are these engines Chain or Cambelts?

Sorry forgot the other main question i wanted to ask.

Whats the rear space like over the coupe and 4-door and would a child seat fit ok in the coupe or convertible rear?

320i is chain not sure about 323 go for a 4 door if put a child seat in back

Welcome Lee, child seat will fit ok in all models, I would go for cabriolet, but you have to know your budget and preference, if you get a car with full Service History, hpi checks etc, good luck finding new car. Alan :D

I love the cabs but bit worried about leg room in the back as well as child seat fitting ok as i do sometimes have 3 adult passengers. Though it is only rarely so not a huge requirement.

I'll have about £1300/£1400 for the car once my money for it clears. Am i likely to find a reasonably decent modle for that amount? Im thinking around 1998/99 year so not expecting a minter like.
