Hi Folks.

I own a 04 535D Auto and I am contemplating having it re-mapped. What benefits should I expect and are there any risks.

Cheers

Geoff

being a diesal your going to get a nice bit of extra torque, bhp will go up to.

i believe sometimes you can get better MPG to!

Ive looked into re-mapping my 320d,

Can go from 150bhp to around 180bhp and get more mpg so I think it worth it, and maybe in the future may (will ;)) go for it.

ive heard its best not to gav if you have more than 100k on your car.

a true pro tuner will give good advice though, ask around whose best

ive heard AMD i think it is are ment to be good

Cheers for the advice Andy, not heard about the 100k thing, I'll look into it.

tbh ive had loads of friends get their cars chipped and theyve all had impressive bhp / tourque results and have been VERY pleased. Others have ruined their cat converters and the engine management light has come on for them.....nightmare when trying to sell the car on.

as with any modification it comes with risks so be careful but all in all the best value for money you can spend!

I totally agree... The car becomes "Un natural" as per specs and tolerences, therefore no guarantees.

... And you pays yer money and takes yer chances !

Try less brutal mods first, cheaper n gives you options :)

tbh its probbably the best value you can spend on a car cash / returns wise just a technical nightmare if they go wrong

I have also noticed the fact of Non-Matching ECU, EMW and other critical managements systems...

I do understand that original units can be modded but there will always be the fact "Zat Ze Germans won't like it! !!
