This happened recently while travelling at around 70 on a dual carriageway, quite disconcerting Hazards on get across to the near side stop Key out Key in car starts and runs normally for the rest of the day.

At home plug in the Diagnostics and find Nothing ?? the issue didn't go away randomly the engine would cut out but no codes stored. Found a post on another Forum that detailed the symptoms could be 1.Crank Sensor 2. Injector 5 fail through water ingress 3. Fuel Filter or fuel pump issues. My problem was not finding any codes to give a clue as to just where the problem was. Then I took the car for a drive with diagnostics plugged in and Live Data running Hey Presto a code for Injector 5 recorded when the engine cut out

So a set of Injectors ordered along with Glowplugs and Inlet Manifold gaskets (family is on bread and dripping) 🤣

Wow, I’m surprised as failed injector would stop a running engine. Any misfires or symptoms prior?

well done with the live data diagnostic.

can everyone have a whip round? Anyone got a number for bob geldof? Shall we do a benefit gig? I’ll bring the drums! 😂

Morning Stu

Thanks for the offer of whip round 🤣 I am sure we will get used to eating the horses hay and dog biscuits 🤣

The fault is weird engine just shuts down, remove key replace key press start and it fires up first time and runs smoothly on all 6 get in and drive it and sometimes it behaves and another it cut out 4 times in a mile, no faults recorded. Had me scratching my head and reading a lot I will keep you updated once all the bits arrive

Well all done. If you need to do this you need an extractor to get the injectors out I made my own. Welded an M14 wheel nut to an M12 nut so I could use my Slide hammer 1 2 and 3 popped out really easily 4 5 and 6 no way? Then I talked to a Truck and Plant mechanic he told me they use an air driven vibrating tool to get injectors out. Back home and with the help of one of my sons and an SDS hammer drill with a blunt chisel attachment against the underside of the Slide hammer and it worked. It took the best part of Saturday to get the last 3 out but out they came.

All back together battery fully charged plugged in the diagnostics and cleared fault memory then reset the Injector adaptions, then 30 seconds of cranking and she burst into life
