Hi all first post and hitting the ground running. Front discs badly need replacing but there are 2 different 118d models.

E81 and E87? How do I tell which is mine?

Any issues, special tools required to change the discs?

All appears straight forward enough. That right?

Welcome Tony the ! series are great cars

You shouldn't have any issues with the brakes all straight forward stuff. If you go online log onto www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your vin and it will bring up  your cars parts list search brakes you will be able to get the OEM part number so you can cross reference if buying factors etc. Most factors have a part number cross reference program

Hi Tony...welcome to the Forum

I would check the boot struts (if they have any visible struts...not sure) as the version number used to be displayed on them.

But use Realoem to confirm, but usually just a size difference on the discs and pads.

Let us know how you get on with it

Cheers  Trevor

Thanks. Another question occurs to me.

Are the callipers wind back or push back? My wind back tool [that I used on my Audi] is u/s so will need another if so.

Cheers.

Tony
