Headlight help

Passenger side headlight stopped working he thinks it's the ballast but I can't seem to find one anywhere in the internet for his car anyone help?

Hi Tom...welcome to the Forum

Possibly the bulb?

If it is the ballast, ensure it is powered down for some time before disconnecting as there is a danger of electrocution.

We're sure it's not the bulb, where could I get a ballast from? Other than BMW

If it's not the ballast or the bulb what else could it be? If the ballast had gone would it throw up any codes?

I would be tempted to take it to Halfords as they may have a spare xenon bulb to try first before committing to the cost of a replacement one, at least you could eliminate that area first.

He said he tried a HiD bulb and it blew straight away should he try a xenon?

lol....sounds like they fitted an ordinary Halogen bulb instead

Looking at realoem you should have Xenon Dipped beam lamps and H7 mains. Are you sure its not the lamp because you have swapped it to the good side? If the lamp is good (works on the other side) then that points towards the Ballast or a bad earth connection that is where I would look.

Here are BMW's part numbers if it helps. The control unit is the ballast by the way.
