DPF Cleaning fluid
Hi Andrew Neighbour just brought a Foxwell NT501 Elite from Ebay £120 (I think) it is DPF capable among lots of other stuff there is also iCarsoft V2 for about the same price I know that is capable of regen activation I also believe you can register a new/other DPF with it, Best is BMW INPA/ISTA but that needs to be loaded on to a Laptop but is definitely the best I have read 2 instances recently where the Ash content is high and the (BMW set a % limit) that also could be the issue maybe a chemical clean and reset will do the trick Good Luck Dave

DPF Cleaning fluid
Hi guys, I fitted a new air intake sensor and it has made no difference, the EML is still on. Before anybody says, I have turned it of with a cheap scanner but it still throws up the same code. Can anybody suggest a reasonably priced scanner I could buy £100 . 00 that would be able to force a regen? I drove around 350 miles at the weekend trying hard to keep the revs around 2500/3000 without success, the DPF is still telling me to take it to BMW. It is not in limp mode so it can't be that bad but it annoys me. thanks Paneuro.

2005 540i msport manual
Hi Ste Your car is indeed very rare if there are only 2 registered BMW are great aren't they, all you need is someone with INPA/ISTA plug in and it will give you month and year of manufacture plus the full original equipment build sheet How far away from West Sussex are you ? Dave

Morning John Welcome to the Forum White smoke can be caused by Condensation or a Coolant leak, Grey smoke is normally over fuelling Black smoke Way to much fuel. Does the smoke smell ? So who Diagnosed EGR issues ? Who replaced the EGR (BMW or an Independent) when the EGR was replaced was the EGR Cooler replaced? Have you checked coolant levels to see if your losing any? Loads of questions I am afraid before we can try and help 😁 Dave- 2005 540i msport manual
Morning Ste Welcome to the Forum There is a website "How many are left" that should let you know how many are still on the road just being Manual makes it a little bit like Rocking Horse manure 😅 (It is full manual not DSG) I did read a couple of months back of a 540i 6 speed late 90's model with a price of £14k just make a search now and then to see what pops up Enjoy Dave- Yesterday

Hi James PDC = Park Distance Control that's the sensors in the bumpers your screen normally shows a graphic of the car with Front and Rear warnings If there is no camera fitted you will probably need the Camera Control unit Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box then look at the Distance systems section that should help you understand what's needed plus the part numbers then search the internet for the bits you need. Often the internet will help with some "How Too's" as well normally the wiring and plugs are there already just taped up so fitting will be plugging in and fitting fuses if needed plus registering/programming the new unit to your chassis/car. That's the bit where you will probably need the help of someone who has access to a BMW capable Diagnostic program if you don't have one yourself. Dave- Reversing camera
Hi Dave, PDC? = Parking detection control?? As far I know there wasn't a camera as it's fitted with sensors but my last car has a camera which I found useful especially when hitching, if the sensors are fitted will that mean I'll have a PDC? If so where will I find it? If not which module will I need and any idea where I'd go to get one. Thanks for the assistance James- Reversing camera
Morning James Welcome to the Forum If your car originally had a camera fitted and the one you have purchased is correct for your car it should be straight forward. I have read that sometimes the trunk operating button needs changing (I have never done the job so can't comment) If your car originally had the acoustic PDC with an image on the screen you will need control unit for the back up camera, that is what the camera plugs into. Then that module will need programming to the car so the screen receives the images. Hope this helps Dave- Front seats
Morning Jon Welcome to the Forum That doesn't sound good ☹️ First thoughts are replace the connector, three methods (1) Buy a new connector (2) Buy a replacement connector from a BMW Dismantler (3) Replace the seat loom completely Start by looking at www.realoem.com if you haven't used it before put the last seven digits of your Vin into the search box it will call up your model the search for what you need. For options 1 & 2 you will need a wiring diagram Once repairs are complete you will need someone with a BMW capable diagnostic program so that after all fuses and relay's have been checked any Faults/errors can be noted and cleared. Then you should be good to go Good Luck Dave- Last week

Morning Vinman Welcome to the Forum I have never been a fan of Apple products personally but you can get Carplay I have never done this but as far as I understand you can add Carplay by (a) Getting a BMW Dealer to activate it through their software ( No idea of cost ) (b) A local BMW Specialist may well have the software to do it worth a search (again there will be a cost) (c) I have read that certain models you can upgrade using a USB Dongle (check Ebay) If it were mine I would find a Local BMW Specialist who can help there is a Register of BMW Specialists an internet search should find one close by Hope this helps DaveGreydog started following 2018 X3 adding apple car playVinman joined the community- 2018 X3 adding apple car play
New to us, 2018 X3, when we purchased this car used from a Toyota dealer they said the car had apple car play, Well it doesn’t, but I guess there are after market modules you can add which are plug and play. Could someone recommend a unit that works well and is reliable. My wife who likes the car but wants me to dump it if she can’t have apple car play. Could you help me out.Moman62 joined the community- BMW X3 F35 2017 Differentials and Transfer Case Fluids
Hello. I have a 2017 X3 3.5XI with the M-sport package which has 55,000miles on the clock. My BMW dealer recommends I change both front/rear diff and the transfer case fluids. I only drive 3000 miles a year in this vehicle now I'm semi retired. I'm not experiencing any problems with any of these components; gear changes/all wheel drive functions are still smooth and quiet; no vibration etc. What are your recommendations on flushing/replacing fluids/oil based on vehicle age and the amount of use they get based on your own experiences? Thank you. MomanAlrikOrion joined the communitynoiseyneil joined the community- BMW E70 Driver door won’t open from inside or out
