  2. Good morning Dave Thanks for the reply, towing it isn't in my best interest I would like to get it running. And the parts car runs it just has no title which is why it's a part out car, which is good for me. I did a little research on the ews immobilizer code I got and that seems to be where my problem lies. Considering it ran one minute and not the next, and it's the code it's throwing. As both fuel and spark systems stopped working. I will check all the sensors as well I know bmws can be weird if they aren't getting signals from maf or others. My 135i was a similar case to this one and it was just a maf sensor. I opened the Schrader valve and tested fuel pressure it had plenty of pressure and flow. I don't know why that would knock out spark too though. I'm just not really sure how to fix the ews fault there isn't a ton of support for this car. I had a hard time even finding a fuse diagram. I am going this Friday to try again so any help with fixing that code would also be appreciated. Thanks
  3. My 320d has wireless charging, however my s24 ultra doesn't seem to like it I have had a "phone too hot remove from charger" error (from the phone) once or it simply does seem to get much of a charge. The LED goes blue when I put it in the tray. Advice appreciated. Rich
  4. Hi All, Just purchased a 320d M Sport Xdrive Touring 2019 40,000 miles. £25k. Really liking the car, I was trying to get A4 Avant Quattro but struggling to find one I liked/right price. Tried the 320 and decided to go for it, purchased from main dealer so probably paid over the odds but at least it's fresh MOT and serviced with one year warranty and free boot liner and dog guard thrown in. But cheesed off they didn't top up AdBlue or fit the dog guard properly. Two quick questions: Is my model G21? Do they still do/where would I find the sticker that lists the options the car comes with (in my old Golf it was in the spare wheel well)? Cheers Rich
  5. Afternoon Darren Just your BMW telling you that you needed a Dealers help 😅 Or hoping to scare you into their arms Try a Parking Brake reset, as you only changed pads a Soft Reset should work Turn on the ignition. Hold down the parking sensor button for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep. Release the button, and the system will reset Hope that does it for you Dave

  7. Morning Robin Welcome to the Forum By the sound of things you need a coil over kit for standard ride height with adjustable shocks. Playing with bump and rebound settings should allow a more supple ride, though wheels and tyres are a big part of the overall equation. Bilstien are a well established reliable name that has been around for years so if the kit has been developed for the car should be a good choice, lots of other kits out there with a wild price range but personally suspension tyres and brakes really are not worth cutting corners with. Dave
  8. Morning Rob Welcome to the Forum As with most cars in reasonable condition and with an MOT it is worth the market value, check the Auction sites and local adds. Without an MOT it is scrap value as it can't be driven some recyclers may even charge to collect it. Reading your post it seems like you have already made a decision. Personally I would fix it and sell it or maybe carry on using it but then I do all my own maintenance on our cars and its a hobby not a chore Dave
  9. Thanks Dave, will have a look sooner than expected!
  10. Morning Clifford Welcome to the Forum If you are not aware take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box, it will bring up your model then look in the Exhaust section The only part I am aware of BMW call a "fixing Bow" it goes on the rear silencer flap actuator assembly Good luck Dave

  12. Thanks Dave, will enquire further. Thanks for the reply.
  13. Good to know Dave, Thanks! If I can't use them on the fob I'll put em on something. Here Kitty Kitty:)
  14. Been a while, forgot to update sorry. Turned out to be the belt tensioner pulley at fault, bearing was goosed. Hope this helps some people.
  15. Hi Geoff Welcome to the Forum I would think that buying in Canada is like the UK History, History, History then making sure everything works as it should Hope this helps Dave
  16. Morning Oliver Welcome to the Forum Taking your points in order 1. Simple answer NO the gas struts assist and hold the tailgate open but were never designed to open it. A powered tailgate is a different beast altogether, not sure if you can retrofit a powered tailgate if all the loom is there it should be possible but someone with software will need to enable it. 2. Pan roofs were/are well known for their problems, there are repair kits available but if you are not into DIY it may be best to talk to a specialist check the register of BMW Specialists they are normally about half Dealer costs 3. I take it you have checked all bulbs and there is no sign of corrosion were the bulbs mount. I would check the loom where it passes from the tailgate into the body near the hinges it isn't unknown for wires to crack and break after years of opening and closing the tailgate. A fairly straight forward repair depending on your soldering skills. you will need to remove trim to carry out repairs Hope this helps Dave
  17. Hi Stuart Welcome to the Forum If you aren't aware take a look at www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will call up your model then look in the Trim section You should find small exploded drawings that will give you an idea of how things fit together. My guess would be either something like a broken clip or something loose. Good Luck Dave

  19. Thanks for the feedback Dave, really helpful stuff. I bet your friends and family are pleased you are sorted when it comes to puncture repair kits to keep them on the road. I like the sound of a puncture plug kit & tyre weld for screws and suchlike issues to help stay moving. Sidewall rupture is a flatbed for now, but I'm definitely going with non RFT in 17 months for the next M40d which I really enjoy driving. Ironically, we were in Arundel, W.Sussex when I got the recent pot hole blow out, so know exactly what you mean, I could not believe the state of the roads in the south of England to be honest, it was like wacky races avoiding pot holes on any main roads. We live in sunny N. Yorkshire and don't suffer from quite so many holes in the roads. Thank you for the information, but interestingly, I have already logged a claim for vehicle damage (tyre) with W. Sussex CC when I got home, their website says it can take 24 weeks before they even look at it... I'll wait and plan for the fight. Cheers Jon
  20. Morning Kiernan Welcome to the Forum Something in the clutch is wearing or loose and will need investigation would be my guess Gearbox out job to repair Dave
  21. Hi Dave, I’ve actually gone for EBC grooved discs with yellowstuff pads. Just thought it would look a little beefier whilst still benefitting from good performance and longevity. Stu👍
  22. Any Progress William ??? Dave
  23. Hi Kor Welcome to the Forum As your under an extended Warranty fingers crossed it will be plain sailing and fixed Keep us up to date Dave
  24. Morning Damion I would say yes to the software update (but a Dealer will charge £££) this should be in iDrive try My Vehicle, Vehicle Settings, Doors/Key, then scroll down to mirrors and check Fold Mirrors when Locked If that doesn't work you need help from someone with a BMW capable diagnostic package (ISTA/INPA) to check if it is in a hidden menu. Be aware BMW are making it harder and harder to tinker with the cars mainly after 2019 year so you should be OK Dave
  25. Morning Rob His was in the car when he brought it and is OEM (car is BMW 330e 2019) apparently works well with his iPhone but not with our daughters Android phone. You could talk to your Dealer but make sure your wallet is in a protected spot 😁 as I have know idea of cost ££££. If BMW are fitting them then there will be Retro fit kits out there from the Far east so worth looking at the Auction sites but I have no knowledge of quality other than the screen in the X5 failed and I replaced it with a complete Android unit from Ebay at less than a 1/3rd of the BMW quote. Truly plug and play allows switching between the OEM CiC and Android gives better GPS and many other programs and has been totally reliable for the last 3 years (that's killed it ) Me I don't spend long enough in the car for my phone to need charging these days 😅 While the X5 has Android Auto and Carplay I have to say like a lot of gadgets they are rarely used. Bluetooth is the only thing I see as an essential Good Luck with the search for a solution Dave
  26. Hi Richard Welcome to the Forum Sounds like BMW have decided you shouldn't go near any dirt or mud in your 220i Touring 🤣 That leaves little choice really. have you thought of checking Mud Flaps from either the 1 series or 3 series cars it may be they can be modified to fit ? If not it means the after market accessories have you Googled to see what if anything comes up Good Luck with the search Dave
  27. Morning John Welcome to the Forum I believe you should be able to change that in the iDrive menu. Unless you have an import from Japan then it could get more complicated Dave
  28. Hi. That start/stop ignition button never turns off. Same with the P when parked. I will check the mini fuses on the car. I even added some not in fuse box. I will look for gear and brake fuse. On diagram and #. Thanks
  29. Hi Paul Last set for the X5 were from Euro Car Parts by QH Disc's and Pads around £100 if my wallet remembers correctly Dave
