  2. Good to know Dave, Thanks! If I can't use them on the fob I'll put em on something. Here Kitty Kitty:)
  3. Hi Joe If memory serves 2e41 is bad communication between the EWS and DDE the other 2e47 is Thermostat or Sensor related. Looks like that sorts your weekend Dave
  4. Been a while, forgot to update sorry. Turned out to be the belt tensioner pulley at fault, bearing was goosed. Hope this helps some people.

  6. Hi Geoff Welcome to the Forum I would think that buying in Canada is like the UK History, History, History then making sure everything works as it should Hope this helps Dave
  7. Morning Oliver Welcome to the Forum Taking your points in order 1. Simple answer NO the gas struts assist and hold the tailgate open but were never designed to open it. A powered tailgate is a different beast altogether, not sure if you can retrofit a powered tailgate if all the loom is there it should be possible but someone with software will need to enable it. 2. Pan roofs were/are well known for their problems, there are repair kits available but if you are not into DIY it may be best to talk to a specialist check the register of BMW Specialists they are normally about half Dealer costs 3. I take it you have checked all bulbs and there is no sign of corrosion were the bulbs mount. I would check the loom where it passes from the tailgate into the body near the hinges it isn't unknown for wires to crack and break after years of opening and closing the tailgate. A fairly straight forward repair depending on your soldering skills. you will need to remove trim to carry out repairs Hope this helps Dave

  9. Hi Stuart Welcome to the Forum If you aren't aware take a look at www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will call up your model then look in the Trim section You should find small exploded drawings that will give you an idea of how things fit together. My guess would be either something like a broken clip or something loose. Good Luck Dave
  10. Thanks for the feedback Dave, really helpful stuff. I bet your friends and family are pleased you are sorted when it comes to puncture repair kits to keep them on the road. I like the sound of a puncture plug kit & tyre weld for screws and suchlike issues to help stay moving. Sidewall rupture is a flatbed for now, but I'm definitely going with non RFT in 17 months for the next M40d which I really enjoy driving. Ironically, we were in Arundel, W.Sussex when I got the recent pot hole blow out, so know exactly what you mean, I could not believe the state of the roads in the south of England to be honest, it was like wacky races avoiding pot holes on any main roads. We live in sunny N. Yorkshire and don't suffer from quite so many holes in the roads. Thank you for the information, but interestingly, I have already logged a claim for vehicle damage (tyre) with W. Sussex CC when I got home, their website says it can take 24 weeks before they even look at it... I'll wait and plan for the fight. Cheers Jon
  11. Morning Kiernan Welcome to the Forum Something in the clutch is wearing or loose and will need investigation would be my guess Gearbox out job to repair Dave
  12. Hi Dave, I’ve actually gone for EBC grooved discs with yellowstuff pads. Just thought it would look a little beefier whilst still benefitting from good performance and longevity. Stu👍
  13. Any Progress William ??? Dave
  14. Hi Kor Welcome to the Forum As your under an extended Warranty fingers crossed it will be plain sailing and fixed Keep us up to date Dave
  15. Morning Damion I would say yes to the software update (but a Dealer will charge £££) this should be in iDrive try My Vehicle, Vehicle Settings, Doors/Key, then scroll down to mirrors and check Fold Mirrors when Locked If that doesn't work you need help from someone with a BMW capable diagnostic package (ISTA/INPA) to check if it is in a hidden menu. Be aware BMW are making it harder and harder to tinker with the cars mainly after 2019 year so you should be OK Dave
  16. Morning Rob His was in the car when he brought it and is OEM (car is BMW 330e 2019) apparently works well with his iPhone but not with our daughters Android phone. You could talk to your Dealer but make sure your wallet is in a protected spot 😁 as I have know idea of cost ££££. If BMW are fitting them then there will be Retro fit kits out there from the Far east so worth looking at the Auction sites but I have no knowledge of quality other than the screen in the X5 failed and I replaced it with a complete Android unit from Ebay at less than a 1/3rd of the BMW quote. Truly plug and play allows switching between the OEM CiC and Android gives better GPS and many other programs and has been totally reliable for the last 3 years (that's killed it ) Me I don't spend long enough in the car for my phone to need charging these days 😅 While the X5 has Android Auto and Carplay I have to say like a lot of gadgets they are rarely used. Bluetooth is the only thing I see as an essential Good Luck with the search for a solution Dave

  18. Hi Richard Welcome to the Forum Sounds like BMW have decided you shouldn't go near any dirt or mud in your 220i Touring 🤣 That leaves little choice really. have you thought of checking Mud Flaps from either the 1 series or 3 series cars it may be they can be modified to fit ? If not it means the after market accessories have you Googled to see what if anything comes up Good Luck with the search Dave
  19. Morning John Welcome to the Forum I believe you should be able to change that in the iDrive menu. Unless you have an import from Japan then it could get more complicated Dave
  20. Hi. That start/stop ignition button never turns off. Same with the P when parked. I will check the mini fuses on the car. I even added some not in fuse box. I will look for gear and brake fuse. On diagram and #. Thanks
  21. Hi Paul Last set for the X5 were from Euro Car Parts by QH Disc's and Pads around £100 if my wallet remembers correctly Dave
  22. Morning Darren I brought mine a few years ago (2009 if I recall) through Ebay. Make the checks mine was from a UK seller with good feed back who also offered back up. Before that I used BMW 1.4.0 (still have it on the same laptop) Where ever you buy just make the normal sensible checks to make sure you will have support if needed Dave
  23. Just realized that I made a mistake. The last sentence should have been: " You would plug the trailer’s 7-pin into it, then the 7-pin coming out of the controller to X5."
  24. I would guess £500 + + from a Dealer so not exactly dear if yours isn't working 😁 Check www.reaoem.com either search by Vin number then through the sections or by the Part number you have. If you aren't aware double click the part number and you should get a list of alternates. Then check the normal Auction sites but don't forget there is a healthy BMW Specialist dismantler network they may help Dave
  25. Morning Chris Welcome to the Forum How frustrating, but if I remember back in the 70's British Leyland would have happily delivered the car warts and all 🤣 (I had a couple) Good luck keep nagging the Dealer Dave
  26. Morning John Karl For me that would indicate either an ABS sensor is down or the ABS controller has a Fault (not unknown) There are several companies that repair the ABS controllers at a reasonable cost and Warranty their work, the controller can be removed without disturbing the Brakes. An ABS sensor is around £20 make sure the reluctor ring is clean and not filled with crud (seen that a few times) fiddly to clean but worth it. Google will help with test procedures for ABS Sensors Don't know what system you brought locally but it seems to have moved you forward so Good Buy Dave
  27. My poor beautiful old E46 can retire now ahah
  28. Glad it worked 😃 Try (if you aren't already) www.realoem.com for BMW parts numbers some times it takes a visual search of the sections as I don't think it would find Gizmo 🤣 Dave
  29. I’ve just ordered a 220i coupe, obviously very excited. But was just wondering. What head unit people are seeing in their new deliveries this year. High 4 or High 5/idrive 8 or 8.5? Also long are deliveries taking from order the UK realistically?
