Its nice to know the speedo is reading fast so that when you go through a camera at least it will be the right side of the limit :-)
-
Enjoy it and always tempting to know what MPG it will do it you go lightly on the throttle :-)
-
Could be that the engine has been on a regeneration cycle (if it has a diesel engine) and the temperature is increased for this cycle so has to cool down enough after switching off?
-
Hi Miguel and welcome to the Forum
I personally find the feature annoying although in a city with constant start-stop traffic it can be a blessing.
The feature can be switched off it annoys you so your choice really.
Let us know how you get on with it

let us know how it goes...be nice to see if that resolves it

Would be interesting to see how readings differ between the speedo and actual GPS readings with the current wheels/tyres combination

Fame at last !
will look out for the video when it's released

Hi Lee
Is it a plastic or metal elbow?
I would assume that if it is secured with fasteners then it can be removed and replaced.
Let us know if you manage to source one and if not then we may be able to dig deeper

Hi Rob
It shouldn't make too much difference to the speedo reading as there is always a % fudge factor either way (you can always check it on an external sat nav) also if you are altering the profile of the tyres, as you say, there wouldn't be much if any of a difference in readings.

Hi Paul
I think it is a case of 'its worth it to someone who wants it'....I would try putting it on ebay with a very high reserve just to see what the bids are like and then go from there...at least you'll have a valuation, of sorts.

There has to be some benefits to having the stress of your own business. The AMG's are amazing cars but Merc Dealers can leave BMW floundering when it comes to charging!!! Sometimes it felt as though there were sensors in the car so that when I drove past the dealer they sent an invoice!!
1LOL....I'm sure they have done that
It sounds like you know what you want from a car and I agree that sometimes it does come down to engine choice and other factors that dictate the vehicle you have chosen to drive
I drive a Honda CRV (3rd Generation) 2.2 CDT-i on a daily basis and I will probably grow old with it (although it may see it's demise in better condition than me). It just does what it says on the tin and does it very well, so no point in getting shot of it.
However, a man cannot have only one car...bit like a woman with handbags and that's where the 'other car(s)' come in....lol -
Hi Razvan...welcome to the Forum
Difficult one to pinpoint the cause ..... first thoughts were of the turbo bearings failing but not so sure as it only hits the spot at certain revs and it was bearings it would evidence throughout the rev range.
Thinking it may be an induction leak (inlet manifold, hoses, intercooler, etc) but don't discount an exhaust leak (anywhere from the manifold, turbo and through to the downpipe).
Maybe a smoke test is the best way forward....that would narrow down the possible causes almost immediately.
Let us know what you find

Wow! that's a fantastic collection of cars you've had over the years, Dave.
AMG is such a superb breed, never had the opportunity to own one (as yet).
Any thoughts of 'what next' or will you be sticking with the Beemer?

Keep us updated...am intrigued to know the answer

Morning Ray
Years ago upgrading my Cosworth we could buy rated injectors up to around 450 bhp with suitable turbo and head mods, the trick was to fit a fifth injector in the inlet manifold to get above that. Yes I ran a Cosworth Saphire on the road with 390bhp at the wheels exciting !!! Nothing much happened below 3k then all hell let loose totally mad then of course it was stolen all standard stuff for Cossie's in the 80's and 90's so I went Lotus Carlton.
2Lotus Carlton....awesome car!!! definitely one of my favourites from that era

Sounds like quite an ambitious project...sorry, don't know the answer. But surely they will have more stock in the near future so may be worth waiting?
-
I assume that if it was a blocked DPF the warning lamp would indicate this...unless there is an issue with that?
I'm sure there must be something in the system memory to indicate a malfunction....definitely first place I would check
-
sounds like a logical cause...being in an enclosed environment as temperature changes I suppose will cause a certain amount of condensation and then leads to corrosion.
-
Seems like it is a common problem which can affect other models also...how it comes loose in the first place is another question
-
I would agree with Dave as it does sound like some trunking may have been dislodged during fitment of the radio.
Worth just pulling the head unit out and checking behind it to see what has occurred.

Hey Jude (sorry couldn't resist that)
I would opt for the 2.0 if you are going to use the estate for the purpose it is designed for (e.g. carrying loads) in which case the extra power should compensate to a better MPG overall.
Let us know what you think of it when you get to drive the 320 in comparison to the the 316 and 318.
