  1. Sorry….. welcome Sam! How rude of me. The abs is always on? Have you checked for leaks in the pipes? When you say it’s always on, do you mean the pump or the warning light? Cheers Stu
  2. That noise usually relates to a fan come off its bearing or something jammed under the fins.
  3. New seat adjuster in and a new alternator fitted…. 2 hours of Saturday unavailable for shopping…. Great stuff! Productive day… now I can get in the car and charging is happening! Although the car is reading 11.0 when running… took it for a blat and it got up to 14.1 so I’ll give it a good charge today and hopefully it keeps the battery charged. @Greydog thank you for your knowledge as always.
  4. Hi. Try quarry motors in Sheffield. Hopefully they have some or a good lead for them
  5. Superstar as always!
  6. Thanks sir. I just need to know which part to buy…. I won’t steal your seat! Lol
  7. …. Solved the Porsche tyre issue…. I took the wheel off and sent the wife! Haha
  8. Right… but the bullet and got a new alternator… now just need to find the time to fit it. @Greydog do you have the parts I need for the drivers seat? Is it on the seat controls or below the chair…. Which I can’t reach as the chair is over them! Haha
  9. Right…. The x5 is having a laugh…. Porsche got a puncture so I’m waiting for Tuesday to get it replaced, so the X5 knew… it just knew! It’s started dropping into failure mode, the front indicator is intermittent and the drivers seat has stopped moving. As the wife is the size of a squirrel, I can’t get in and drive it to the garage to take the wheel to get the tyre on. Battery is saying 12.5 resting and 13.4 running…. It’s only a year old too… I can’t find the receipt for euro car parts as it was in my old van. Any suggestions? New battery …. Again? How do I check the alternator? Could this be killing the batteries? I have neither the time or money to be swapping parts The car is dropping into fail safe mode randomly and at speed (as always) so it’s not safe. Fault on the scanner is showing throttle position sensor jammed or something… I’ll post some pics.
  10. Haha… I can guess you have never owned my X5 then! Welcome to the forum!
  11. Hi Joe… I’m from Yorkshire so a bit closer! …. I’m on bmw 10 or 11 I think!
  12. Hello, can you lower the rear seats? There should be a manual release in the boot if you can access through there.
  13. I see an issue here… Comes with a filter though!
  14. ….. ah! How old is the car? I see newer models have the battery located under the wiper scuttle panel. It will still have the jumping / charging points under the bonnet
  15. Sorry Stuart, Happy new year. The battery is located on the boot on the 1 series I believe. There are charging points under the bonnet. A positive is usually under the red flap and a negative looks like a large bolt head. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
