Hi Guys

I have a 1989 635CSI that will not hold charge..

I have replaced the battery and altenator but when i drive lights start to go dim then when i stop it wont start as no charge.

Any ideas/common faults?

First job (easiest) is to check and tighten ALL the earth-leads/straps... Often this will cure it.

Next job, run the engine and test the voltages with a meter (anywhere theres a positive), test on a few different locations to eliminate broken connections.

Finally, if no solution so far, check relays and regulator for operation/connections... Go back to second job !

Strap a earth lead from alternator to body and it is now fixed
