Engine Pipe Looks Lost...

Featured Replies

Hi, I've got a 2001 4.4i X5 and underneath the BMW engine cover there is a pipe coming up into the top of the engine, see picture, it is not connected to anything, is this okay/normal/designed.

Thanks

Rich

Hey Richard,

I Love threads like this

Possibility I:

It's a breather tube happily venting away where it is

Possibility II:

It is number 12 in this tech-drawing therefore, should be connecting to 14

I want some of them crayons :P

Did you mean "13" ?

Is it venting or sucking with the engine running?
