Hi, just noticed that there is something running on after i turn off my engine

its a 3.0 d sport and it coming from the nearside of the engine, lasts about 1 mins.

Electric fan cooling the system after shut down?

only drove 5 miles in this weather was not up to temp.

It happens on my 320d....fan mate

nearside top of engine has got webasto written on it . could it be some sort of fuel heater?

Air-con fan?

I think what you're hearing is possibly your webasto auxiliary heater, only gets fired up in very cold weather to assist the diesel engine heat up the water temp quicker. Sometimes you'll see the exhaust fumes from it coming from under the sill of the passenger door?

Hi thanks I thought it was something like that cause now you don't here it,

that's the reason why it gets really hot, my concern was it runs for some time after turn off.
