I am new to this forum but not new to BMW as I have owned a superb phase 2 Z4

I am contemplating a 1 Series Convertible however have heard of timing chain problems with this models' engine which is an engine out repair

Can I have views please, is it likely to be age or mileage related and how likely a problem.
