This has probably been asked a million time before but I'm new to the world of BMW's.

What 'E' is my car?

I see all these E numbers and all I can think of is the crap you get, or used to get, in orange squash.

Please help, mines a 2009 59 plate 1 series.

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom, If your car is a 3 door hatchback, it will be an E81

The E is the generation. It is needed to tell the difference between cars of the same series within an era. Many car companies do it like Mercedes.

Thank you, time to start buying stuff!!!

Love the enthusiasm =] any goodies planned?

Yeh, boot lid, bonnet, wing mirror covers and interior trim in carbon, it's gonna be painted as I don't want it on show, some 19" alpina Z8 replica alloys, super chip, stainless exhaust, quiet mind and lightly tinted windows, different head lights and smoked rears

Nothing much then, just the odd subtle changes eh? :)

O yeh, some small areo dynamic mods to bring up the mpg's

... An egg shaped nose-cone ? :P

Does yours have the full engine belly-pan?

Another way to raise the mpg is to have one covering the rear axle, like extending from the rear footwells allway to the rear valance ! :)

Not sure I'll have to have a look, not had it on the ramps yet. I think it's got a full engine pan though
