Switching From Run Flat Tyres To Normal

Hi All,

I bought my first BMW last year and it has run flat tyres on it. I was looking online for some replacements and was gob smacked at the cost and little choice of them.

After reading some previous posts about run flats people have told me that you can replace them with normal ones. My question is though, will this not be illegal as with run flats I do not have a spare tyre? And will my dashboard not keep on flashing an error because of the tyre pressure monitoring system?

Many thanks.

as for the tyre pressure monitoring this shouldn't be affected as its the tyre pressure not the tyre, you will need to keep the same profile etc as this is important. as for the lack of spare. many new cars don't have a spare and I belive that it is not a legal requirement. check with the AA or RAC type orgs to be sure.
