Hi,

I have recently bought a BMW 320i SE 2005 model with built-in BMW Navigation Professional system. I need your help as I am totally new to BMW and navigation systems. The car was supplied with a navigation disk that says 07-02; so I figured out that its 2007 second update of maps.

As expected, there are places that I could not find in my system, so started looking for updates on BMW website, eBay and Amazon. The disk that comes from BMW is a bit expensive i.e. GBP 175 for 2012 EUROPE maps.

I haven't purchased the disk as I was not sure of what exactly I should be looking for and what is the best way to get it. So friends, please help me out with whatever relevant information you can provide about checking compatibility, saving money and getting regular updates.

I have a 2013 328i with Technology and M Sport packages. I purchased the Navigation Map update. Got a USB stick in the mail. After much frustration I found out the USB port in the center console will not work for map updates. Since I hadn't looked at the owner's manual, I had no idea there was a USB port in the glove compartment. Had this car for 6 months and still haven't looked at the stinkin' owner's manual. Even so, I was under the impression it should install from either port. Anyone have this issue with software updates?

I would say the USB function only searches for media files and not executables :)
