HI all new to the site and im after some help!!

ive got a 99 e36 318is, the abs and asc light used to be on permanently and was picked up on scanner as a abs pump. i fitted a 2nd hand pump, now the abs light has gone out but the asc light is still on. i had it put back on the scanner again and nothing abs or asc related came up, could anyone help me? ive been reading up on this some people have said could be a sensor or even the asc dash switch

Did you replace the BS pump with the dame part number

I've also got ( well soon ) a 318is 99plate with the same problem

I need to fix this to get it through MOT

ABS Sensor(s) at the wheels ? Just a thought.

Yeh the asc system is easy on these

well if the ABS rings are picking up a signal the other fault tends to be the motor itself has packed up(3 times on the E39 now!)

when you turn the ignition on see if it goes into test and retracts the cable then releases it again

i have a volvo V70r and the track control light always show but yet nothing wrong with it and turns out it is a common fault on volvos that sensor lights fail , so could be just a faulty sensor..
