I am looking at buying a 2000 to 2004 330 ci cabriolet, is there anything I need to know or look for when buying one of these models ie are roof motors good on these, etc, thanks in advance for any helpful advice. Alan :D

Friend of mine has a 2001 330Ci Convertible and is thinking about selling if your interested. He might come to the meet on 14th.

Biggest thing I would be listning out for when buying an M54 lump is noise from the Vanos.

Thanks DazH, but I am using the Bimmer I just bought as part exchange :D

Big petrol engines are a buyers market at the moment! The m54 is a well designed engine.

i had a silver BMW 330ci 2002, black roof, M Tech Sport....... Def go for a sport , was great fun chucking it around the country lanes, handles, like on rails, also had a manual which was great fun racing thru the gears also slightly quicker than the auto ( in my opion manual more fun). never had any issues with roof etc and reason we go BM 330ci was boot space was one of the biggest with rof down say compare to an Audi etc. Would say tho get one with all the toys ie Sat Nav, TV, Comms pack as have this on my 7 and wonder how i never had these options in first place, also had black leather in mine which i think was the most practical although biege doea look good with hood down...but have to say what a great car it was absolutely loved it, good luck mate.

Thanks guys, really appreciate feedback, the other half has set her heart on having a cabriolet, look forward to meeting you at meets. :D

im i right in saying thats it a E46 if so look out for rear trailing arm bushes and front outer balljoints, the rear bushes are easy to change and cheap but the outer front balljoints you'll need a complete new alloy arm.rear brake pipes are rust prone.front arches are a favourite rot spot cos the arch lip traps mud which cant get out cos there is no rubber seal .

Thanks Shaun, yes it is an E46 with a M54 engine, if I win the lottery tonight it will be an Audi R8 Spyder, brand new. :D
