just noticed today that my rear parking sensor's aren't working, when i select reverse i get a beep from inside my car but nothing else. how do i check to see if there working correctly, any help would be good.

It maybe that one (or more) of the bumper sensors have failed or are faulty.

Someone will be along shortly to help you diagnose which one(s) if any...

just been reading on a couple of forums that there should be a ticking noise coming from the sensor's when you push your thumb tight against them, just tried this and 3 out of 4 are ticking, would the one that's not ticking cause them all not to work?

If you're lucky! After replacing 2 rear one's on mine I found another one on the front faulty as well! But then I'm just lucky like that I suppose! :(((

iv got the same problem on my x5 ,when you put it in reverse the pdc green light flashes and makes a beep but obviously theres a faulty sensor somewhere ill check it out :D

when you push your thumb in on the parking sensor does the ignistion have be on or not. does it have to be in reverse

Ign must be on. Once you've selected reverse, put it in neutral, or just push the button on the dash to activate the parking sensors.

It stays on until you drive off then shuts off automatically - or you can switch it off on the dash button again.

When I select reverse theres a constant beep then when I select drive it stays on until I push the button
