Were Do I Start

Recommended Posts

ok so heres the deal, i have manged to pick myself up a 1992 316i auto fairly cheep, but the last owner never looked after it and what ever repairs needed to it he done him self, so its not been keept in best of shape. but despite that its body work is in pretty good shape, a few rust patches but nothing major, paint work needs atention, and it drives well. so my plan is to give her the tlc she needs and try and restore her to her former glory. so my frist job, is to sort out the drivers door window, so here is the problem, there is a regulator in the car but no motor, and the wires have been cut, i have a new reg and motor with all conentions but my problem is the wires are different colurs and i seem to have one wire too many in the car. thus casing my confusion can any one please help me

Hi Lee, Possibly the new motor is for a later model, hence why the colour coding changed, you could ask local BMW service centre or try an auto electrician,

unless someone else has the answer, good luck. Alan
