just had my x5 ecu read and its coming up with

p09f6 - rail pressure control during cranking

any one have any ideas ?

cheers Pete

Hi Pete, Found this on the web, hope it helps

Ok.. without having your x5 on a diagnostic machine to check for stored fault codes... your most likely problem here is cas trouble.... crank shaft sensor... These do fail - and their function in life is to pick up a signal from the crankshaft - and this then triggers the ignition side and the fuel side... without that signal , the vehicle has zero chance of running. As you say the problem is intermittent - then this is definitely your most likely cause.... It will not send a signal to the ecu (computer) telling the fuel system to operate - hence no fuel/pressure......( and the ign system to

Hope this helped, keep us informed. Alan

cheers Again

Pete

Hi Pete, I could only suggest to have it checked on the diagnostic equipment, unless someone else can come up with an idea, good luck. Alan
