Winter Or All Weather Tyres?

Featured Replies

Apologies if this topic has been covered recently, but I have just joined the forum.

My '04 330Ci convertible has 225/40 ZR18 Khumo tyres, which will shortly need replacing and are hopeless in the white stuff. Living in rural North Yorks we are prone to more severe weather and I cannot really justify a separate set of steel wheels & winter tyres. Does anyone have any experience of running all weather tyres on this model? I appreciate they would be a compromise, but any feedback would be nice to hear.

Thanks.

mate.bmws are poo in the snow whatever tyres you put on them.you could cover the tyres in honey and nails and it wouldnt help.

my plan for the winter is to borrow the mrs car whenever it snows(but leave my keys in my pocket) ;) ;)

the blokw who owns a cafe by me told me the other day,him and his mrs watch the cars struggling to get up the hill by his cafe in the snow.he reckons the only ones that dont make it are bmws and mercs.

happy motoring in the snow mate

Another thing to be careful is that insurance companies add additional cost when people use winter tyres, I think they class it as a mod, good luck.
