Hey guys,

I'm ganna clean MY MUFF tomorrow as the cylinder head failure has gunked her up good and proper and maybe the reason why I have a high idle now its back together. Through research, I've pretty much found out the do's and don'ts but it would be nice to get some input from the guys on here that have actually done it. Hopefully my misfortune will help someone else who wants to do it :)

Any tips + tricks welcome

Daz

Hi Daz... Remove it and place it in a small enough tub(with a lid) or airtight bag, throw in some thinners or other very high alcohol content liquid (NOT Stella!) and give it a good shake for quite a while and watch the shite come out !!!

AVOID the temptation of getting in there with a soft brush as you can damage the sensor elements !!!

When you are happy, remove the MUF from the solution and let it dry (on it's end) matey... FFs do not put it straight back on or you may be making an insurance claim

You will notice a real difference but It'll never be "As New", just a money saver ! HTH DAZ

Even with all the electronic gizmo's I can just bung it in Isopropyl alcohol? like... flood it full of it? I understand it evaporates and being a comp tech I'm aware of the whole 'you can put your computer in the bath as long as it is 100% pure water' theory blah blah blah but I would never do it. It being a really expensive thing, I'm a tad hesitant.

I'd give it a go though matey, thanks.
