Hi I have just got myself a 318is and it has one or two little problems.

1) My heaters don't seem to work very well, they sound like they're blowing air out but not much is coming through the vents.

2) When I put it into 1st gear, sometimes it just pops back out again, all the other gears are fine. Someone said it was a common problem with these?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mate,

Heaters have been covered a few times on here, do a quick search something will pop up.

As for the gears Dabsy is prob your best man for that, he will be along tonight no doubt

Jumping out of gears is usually caused by worn selector forks inside the gearbox, sometimes just renewing the oil can rejeuvenate it a little !

Another, more obvious cause is the gear shift linkage might be out of line...

Heater problem........remove or replace the pollen filter inside the car !! 100% itll fix that problem !!

Thanks for the tips. I'll give the gearbox oil a change and have a look at the pollen filter and go from there.
