Hi Gav :)

How is the 320D to run? i took the decision to go diesel as i have been running a focus ST170 for the past 5 years and it just costs a fortune on tyres and fuel and im not even a mad driver. im fairly sedate most of the time until im on the country roads then ill have my fun :)

You can expect 50+mpg on runs mate.

Never seen it below 35mpg.

It can be harsh on the front tyres due to the diesel engine weight.

Its my first diesel, im never going back to petrol now. :D

lol im looking forward to it. I regularly hit the combi cycle mpg on the focus on the commute as its pretty much straight road with few start stops and a couple o roundabouts so im expecting good MPGs on the BM. i dont do very much city driving at all. how are they on the old white stuff the thing i loved (the only thing really) about the ST was that in the snow it was just unbelievably good i usually succeeded where most others failed. im guessing stay off the power on bends will be a good piece of advice :)

Watch 2nd in the wet, it will catch you out..deffo lol

If its your first RWD take it easy for a while, dont turn traction control off.

The snow...well..I got places now FWD car could, I had a courtsy SAAB during the snow too, the BMW was loads better, and more fun.

I found that turning off the traction control was better for a front wheel drive as it kept flicking the power about and making the car a little unpredictable. turn it off and use the processing power of my right foot usually worked waaay better. i suspect the BMW processing on a RWD will be a little better than that of my right foot :)

You will see when it flicks out exiting an island :D

im sure i will learn and adapt and sill love it lol :) Winter has always been my favourite time to drive. This one will be a little more exciting me thinks lol

You will love it, then you will be drifting round islands on purpose ( i dont do this or condone it ;))
