What one would you get, the m sport is manual and the clubsport is auto

Manual for me hands down, I hate autos

MANUALS FTW !! Auto's are just lazy in my opinion !!

Well, let me vote for the auto....

Only beneficial on larger engines and will leave any manual in sport mode...

Diesel or petrol?

both Diesel, the second was a Bi turbo too!

The manual version of the same 180bhp car is a clear 1 second faster than mine

That explains it then Gav... I think German diesels can have a similar top-end speed but a petrol would get there first... I was using my petrol beast as an example, it would be a false statement to say either is better but petrol acceleration would be obviously quicker as they rev higher !

Auto's are actually quicker Gav...

Using the proven sport mode !

I take it the sport mode is the round button by the gear stick, im really peed off at the moment 2 cars i want are getting viewed over the weekend but i dont get my money until Tuesday.

The car i really want is having an MOT on Mondayso i dont want to give him a deposit just incase it fails.

2003 BMW E46 320d ( 2l Diesel) Manual 0-60 = 8.9sec top speed 134mph 150bhp 49.6mpg

2003 BMW E46 318 (2l petrol) Manual 0-60 = 9.3sec top speed 135mph 143bhp 39.2mpg

2004 BMW E46 318 (2l petrol) AUTO 0-60 = 10.2sec top speed 132mph 143bhp 34.9mpg

Same car, same weight, same year, Diesel manual is faster and more economical

Point proven?B)

No "sport" times though...

On my auto, in sport mode, it revs higher into the "better" power curve... Trust me if you had a manual 2.8, my auto 2.8 would kill it... ask anyone who knows BMW's

Ever asked yourself why BMW manual's are cheaper?

Not because they are lazy !!!

Go for that one mate, looks fantastic..B)

The red manual in the previous post mate, hands down, without a doubt...

In my mind there is no comparison
