  1. I wish i cant afford it now, its times like these i wish i had a credit card.
  2. Finally i have her back, the actuator was p**sing out oil, £600 for the part, oil & vat &labour. Total £1080
  3. Update is that its the Actuator thats leaking, £600+
  4. Car still in the garage, the boss phoned me this morning and said they put the new pump on last night and and put in new gearbox oil, and then this morning the noticed a leak from the bell housing, so i thought sod this im going down there, the boss is off today and i had a look under the car and the old pump was still on the car and all they have done was replace the relay, there dropping the box to look at the leak and the mechanic said it might be the bearings. So what do i do now?.
  5. I think its number 5 http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&sku=23427594334&Search=Go&page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&option=com_virtuemart
  6. Well when they fit a new relay, i will see how it is and then if it still plays up i will have to think what to do next. They said the gearbox oil was fine.
  7. The Bm is in a garage and there saying it might be the pump or the relay, so there changing the relay 1st so fingers crossed it's only the relay. Where's the pump located because hes saying that it's £600 for a pump.
  8. I would like to do it myself but i dont have the time during the week, so hopefully the garage which is 400 yds from work can do it tomorrow because i need the car everyday.
  9. Im going to try and book it in for an oil level check and top up if needed tomorrow, if they can book me in but the will most likely put any old crap in. I will let you know what happens.
  10. No probs, you cant know everything but it would help. Somebody has just told me they had the same problem, and it needed tranny oil top up, but i thought that it was a lifetime thing.
  11. Its the 3rd time its happened now i drive off average speed and then the car goes into neutral, and then after trying to select a gear it goes into 1st, but when i pull away it goes into neutral, and then the next time it goes into 1st i change it to 2nd and pull away, but it wont let me select 4th/5th, but after a few minutes in will let me use 1st again. Ive put a more powerful battery in and ive change the FSR(nothing to do with it really), but in the haynes manual it says check the tranny oil but it doesnt say where. What else could it be?.
  12. When it arrives im fitting a final heater resister, so hopefully that will help cure the flat battery issues i keep getting.
  13. Would an 80ah make much difference.
  14. Ive been told that the car battery i have is to small its a 70ah and i should have a 100ah, but wouldnt BMW have fitted a 100ah already if the car needed one. Also as long as i buy a 100ah one that fits should that be ok, or does it have to be a special one.
  15. Mmm I would say autos apart from mine, because I spend more time sitting at traffic lights in neutral, frantically praying for a gear to appear.
  16. Coming home last night everything was fine until I stop at the lights, when I went to pull off the car went into neutral and I could change into 1st or reverse, and when it went into 1st and I put my foot down it went straight back into neutral. But the 2nd time it went into 1st I used the paddle shift to put it into 2nd and off I went and then up into 3rd and it then wouldn't go into 4th, and when I got home I tried reverse and it engaged. Any ideas. Also i moved my car off the drive and parked up, i went out to move it and it didnt start, so i got the AA to jump me and he did a battery test, which come back ok and he said that the alternator was charging it so the Alternator was fine. Somebody told me that if the battery wasnt fully charged that it wouldnt work properly, but how would that affect an SSG semi auto box?.
  17. On my Front bumper the laquer is peeling off, and the best quote ive had is £180, and they said that they would sand the top paint layer off spray it and then re laquer it. Now the idea im thinking of is to do it myself, if i use a wet dry paper to take of the laquer and do the top coat of colour and laquer with aerosol paint, how hard can it be?. And i have a few light scratches etc which i want sorted, so if i add all this together it will cost a shed load of dosh, so with that ive been looking around and i reckon i can buy everthing for £200, ive looked around and ive found a good polishing machine(2nd hand) and looking at this(http://www.detailing...ead.php?t=20127) i think i could do the stonechips/scratches etc). Any tips or ideas.
  18. Im leaving on the drive for about an hour running, then i will give it a blast.
  19. I think its sorted, i jumped it from the wifes car but would the cog warning light come on even if it was only a low battery, in the book it says take it to a bm dealer but its not on now.
  20. After fixing my front window i was really chuffed, but i went to start the car this morning and it wouldnt start. I have a 330 ci sport SMG, when i turn the key the engine clicks but but nothing and the headlight comes on?, and in the gear selection display on the speedo a round cog symbole appears. In the haynes manual it says: ENGINE WILL NOT START IN ANY GEAR, OR STARTS IN GEARS OTHER THAN PARK OR NEUTRAL, Incorrect selector cable adjustment. Any ideas.
  21. I thought there were more members than the 8 that voted on the poll. :(
  22. I could be interested, its only about 1.5 hours away from me, do they have stalls so you can buy BM bits and bobs.
  23. So the oxford area sounds roughly in the middle between the Midlands and Luton/London, but what about the Northern boys?.
